Claret and Hugh reporting that West Ham interested in Lucas Vasquez a winger at Real Madrid have to ask what we need another winger for.

Sounds like MP thinking about scoring more than the opposition. I reckon most of us would like to see some balance and some decent defence to concede fewer.

We need a left and right back and pur Delan back in the centre of defence We had a chance to buy Shelvie but didn't so we need a defencive mid fielder Oh and a decent 2nd string goal keeper.
Lets start at the back before we bring in more rubbish.

Hi Bideford would agree with you on most points but next season we will have Nathan Trott back as an improving GK and the Right back position with Frederick's and Johnson is quite well covered

Lot of where we strengthen depends on the formation whoever the manager is.

I think the key area we need to strengthen is obvious, its energy and athleticism in the middle of the park. The most successful teams at the moment have this in abundance (Liverpool, Leicester, Man City), and it is easily our biggest weakness.
Iv said previously, no matter how much I like Nobes, he cannot play a 2 man midfield, and neither can Wilshere, especially when next to Declan (who is also not the quickest) . We strengthened some good areas in summer, but we never addressed the glaring issue that (when playing MP's style) teams easily get behind Nobes when he heads higher up the pitch and they get a free run at our defence every time we lose the ball. I do not think our defence is the problem, its how easily exposed they are when playing the style of football MP wants.
Short term i think MP needs to adjust tactically, and maybe play Declan AND Sanchezas together as two deeper players (which may also afford our attackers some extra freedom), or tell Nobes/ Snodgrass to stay deeper. Cullen could even be the short term fix this year.
Tactically, MP is NOT being flexible enough to account for our weaknesses, he is sticking to his "ideal" style but he doesn't yet have the players capable of playing it with balance from Defence to Attack, and this is simply leaving us open.
I was shocked at Roberto's performance on Sat, he was easily solely at fault for ALL THREE goals. Fabianski was not papering over our weakness, he simply wasn't one!

I want to see us sign a defensive midfielder in January, but a mobile player in the mould of Kante or Ndidi (not saying to sign one of those two, but a player like them) .

I’d also like to see us play with 2 up top.

If we were able to get a midfielder like that then ew can give more freedon for whoever plays in the 10 role to get up and support Haller as a second striker.

Been saying for two years on this site we need an athletic midfield we had one in KOUYATE but unfortunately he wasn't a footballer we cannot stick with NOBLE SNODGRASS SANCHEZ WILSHIRE 1, They ain't fit enough and 2, They ain't good enough and that is what is putting so much pressure on the back 4 I ain't having that BALBEUNA and DIOP ain't good enough because at one point they were a tremendous duo at the back for us it all starts with the manager for me hasn't got the tactical nous to change things he plays one way and one way only you have to have more about you than that to be earning probably in the top 5 managers in the premier league HOLLAND and SCULLY should be in the matchday squad at the very least but MP hasn't got the minerals to change things and WILL KEEP HOPING AND F-----G PREYING TO GET A RESULT and that is why he has to be replaced but I know what will happen which normally happens is we will up our game 10 fold because its spurs and get a result and all will be forgotten mark my words watch this space. COYI.
