Sky Sports saying we've been offered Dzeko.

Utter madness if we do go for him. Roma want far too much for him, (£20M according to some reports) he'll want silly wages (£165k a week's been banded about fcol!? ) and at 33 what value is there in signing him?

He'd only ever be a short term fix at best and we'd have to finish something like 2nd as opposed to our usual 11-15th in the league and win a cup just to cover in prize money what we'd have spent on him - and with the best will in the world Edin Dzeko alone just ain't going to make that happen!

Surely it makes much more sense to sign a younger player who will still have value in 3,4 or 5 years time?

Well said Billy, hopefully no more sticking plasters.

Agree entirely with Dzeko comment, these agent / players are such greedy b———-s, all trying to get on the The Premiership gravy train👎 I would say yes for £2m and £25k a week or on yer bike, I wish MP would get these prospective pensioners off his radar, he seems to love some of the ones that played under him years ago! We all know the Premiership is a very tough competitive demanding league, it needs players with stamina and pace in all positions to compete, he as a Manager looking at WH hospital beds should see only to well what a waste of time signing has beens or those with historic injury problems!

I have no problem with Dzeko, if he’s FREE and requires no more than £100k per week. He’s rarely injured, guarantees goals and his wage would be funded from Carroll leaving, therefore I think it’s a goer.

Mark, the only problems are, he wants £165k, plus obviously he’s now 33 and the Premiership is tougher from when he was playing in it!

Dzeko now decided he wants to stay where he is, think he wants an easy life in Italy rather than the tough spotlight of the Premiership, so just as well we didn’t sign another player that wants an easy life on huge wages!

What about a straight swop Chico for Shelvey.

Surely we need to aim higher than Shelvy? Ok player. but is he someone that will change out team massively? I'm not too sure.

See we’ve upped our bid apparently for Medel to £7.7m, am I the only one that is thinking Husillos and MP are far to blinkered in their recruitment policy, Medel approaching 33, Chilean! That’s not cheap for me, experienced yes, but for the bloody Premiership, how many more £7/ 8m’s are we going to throw away on players that are simply not good enough for the Premiership and are short term patch up jobs that will end up on the treatment table picking up their £70k weekly!

Exactly. When you spend those 7 mil plus wages on these players who will never really play . adds up.

We cannot help ourselves by signing or loaning a total has been stiff and giving him his retirement wages for a year or too for 80,000 a week with **** all in return excuse my French but when will we learn our lesson ARBELOA EVRA to name a few and dave is spot on we should be aiming higher than SHELVEY and SNODGRASS needs replacing as you can't fault his work rate but he's just a squad player at best . COYI.
