I've seen a lot of reports stating that we've agreed a deal with Dzeko?

I’ve read those, too.

He has been and still is (just about) a quality front man, but Roma’s valuation for a player of his age is ridiculous.

MP knows him as well as any, so bringing him on board makes sense - at a sensible price.

To old . Too pricy.

Apparently according to Media, MP. willing to offer Dzeko £160k a week! Offload some of the overpaid players either not playing or doing F. A. I don’t think it would be a bad deal, depending on contract length?

{Ed002's Note - The coach does not decide the wages that will be paid.}

Ed002, just quoting in the Media it states “ Pellegrini is prepared to pay him £160k a week”.

{Ed002's Note - It is not how it works I am afraid.}

Yeah, reckon our owners will balk at that price.

That would smash our wage structure and have others clamouring for more. Sully won’t do it.

Would it be fair to say that Birmingham blaming Redknapp and Zola for playing a massive part in their current situation is a little out of line?
Managers ask for players and what not but ultimately the signing and final terms any players are offered are down to the owner/ chairman.

{Ed002's Note - They are scratching around for excuses. It is rarely the owner or chairman who get involved closely in transfers, and not the case at Birmingham - although it is at West Ham and the primary reason the club has been held back in recent years.}

We are such a strange club. Even our own fans are weird these days. Don’t know what we want and currently no idea as to how to progress at all.

Until the miracle happens and we become a stable club we should be happy with the odd win over the top 5. I miss getting a result against Chelsea one week then losing to cheltenham a week later and the world not ending over it.

Ed, will it be Husillos acting on behalf of west ham now?

Was he the man behind last window?

{Ed002's Note - One of the owners still has far too much involvement with the transfers at West Ham United, but I have zero confidence that Mario Husillos can fix anything at all - it was a hopeless appointment as I said at the time.}

To be fair, I miss those days too.
Am pragmatic enough to realise that we are mid table at best.
Our signings and the amount spent on them has been a little strange though - I see clubs buying smart and learning, yet we only ever seem to make the same mistake.
Either old/ payday players or temperamental players who will leave the moment things go against them.
I would much rather the club go back to its roots and develop youth for a fraction of the cost and get some sort of business model going. If we ever want to compete with Chelsea (41 youngsters loaned out) or Man City (28 players loaned out)
I know that Fifa wants to stop this but cannot see them beating the combined might of some of Europe's top clubs and think this is what we *must* do.

I agree but it’s out of our hands. So why worry?
Just hope for a time in which the players try for an extended period and play entertaining football. Regardles of how they came to play for us and for how much etc.

Hope used to be important in football. Now the overriding feeling is despair with the majority of fans. It’s a shame.
