WINSTON REID, a forgotten man now, ITS unclear as to the extent of his injuries though severe, there are no plans of any kind for him at present, I am told that he has discussed retirement, in private but not with the club, he has four years left on his contract , and WH are fully insured to make a payment should this occur, what a shame, I hope he somehow manages a recovery, the road back from where he is is long and arduous but we must all understand that he doesn't want to have permanent problems, sometime later this year we will find out more good luck mate. IRONMIKE.

Being an expat living in Oz never really like Kiwis, but Reid is an exception. Hope he gets his career back on track even if it’s not for us. A good player who gave his all when called upon.

Gutted for him ironmike. Is that what his insta post was about?
He sounded kind of depressed in it so hoping he can get some help from the club.

Great bloke, shame he had such a bad injury, gutted for him. Wish him all the best for either recovery or retirement. Would not put it past him to retire though as i think he is a genuine bloke who would not sit on the injury table for 4 years collecting a 70k salary while not playing. Like Ginge, i think he has been great for the club.

Glen/ Nick, isn’t having 4 years left on his contract not looking after him enough? He’s hardly going to be sleeping rough is he? If that sounds harsh it all depends on what you’ve been through in life, i’m sure he’s a very nice bloke, but let’s get things in perspective! Without getting the Violin out, I had a heart attack and triple by pass at 48 years old, 2 girls still at home, wife part time at Sainsbury’s, 12 years left on my mortgage in a house in Dagenham! I think I was bloody lucky just to survive! That’s as far as any sympathy could possibly go for me!

I have suspected this for a while. Another ledley king, talented defender who's knees couldn't take the strain. Winston will live forever in West ham folk law scoring that winner. Hope he can find another role within the club like Carlton and Collison have.
