no to zouma
hell yes to drinkwater.

Couldn't disagree more, zouma on loan makes total sense, quick phyical and versatile, drinkwater? Why when we have noble, if they offet a ohysical athletic presence like bakayoko that's different.

Im in leer camp on this, Zouma yes opition to buy, why pay Drinkwater wages when we have noble and rice, he would be an expensive bench warmer.

we don't have a midfielder with the passing range of drinkwater, he would compliment rice perfectly.
did anyone see zouma at stoke last season? i remember himmbeing shocking when we played them and i have a fair few stoke season ticket holders as friends and they all slated him last season.

I say take both, MP wants a squad not just a starting 11, if Kouyate and Obiang go it leaves us very thin on midfielders that’s where Drinkwater comes in and Zouma would be a good addition to our defence, then you have to take injuries into account plus Noble won’t be able to play 38+ games for 90mins he will need resting now and then whether he likes it or not, and Drinkwater and Zouma have prem experience?

tbh both are improvements imo. i'd personally love to get zouma on the cheap for a season with a view to buy. we need defnders with prem league experience as diop and balbeuna are quite risky, don't care what anyone says. and zouma is a quality defender on his day too and has bags of potential - chelsea love seeling promising youngsters for them to come back to haunt them at a later date hahah.

check out zoumas stats on whoscored I've mentioned a few times we should go for him and 1.5m with option to buy is perfect. He was also playing in an awful stoke team and is still young his development stifled at chelsea.

drinkwater I think we could do better very similar to noble.

I live near Stoke and have a lot of Stoke City friends who said Zouma was quality. i'm in Hammer Tiimes camp here and say go for both if we can .

Totally agree Iron Alan’s Dabber iron regarding Zouma and Drinkwater
I’d definitely ask about Barkley or even better Loftus Cheek ⚒.

I’d be tempted to do an offer on both. But feel like Drinkwater would be the more pressing of the two, as if both Kouyate and Obiang are off. we’re in desperate need of cover in the middle of the park.
Plus I like the feel of a homegrown heartbeat to the side / midfield with two of Nobby / Rice / Drinkwater.

I agree Mj good English heartbeat in the midfield was nice to see wilshere rice and nobes all link up nicely at villa.

I'm not overly keen on drinkwater though one good season which was a freak one when leicester won. I could well be very wrong but I'd only take him on the very cheap to strengthen the squad but i'd prefure someone abit more dynamic an athletic ball winner like ntcham, Lemina i'm sure there's other options too that fit that mold.

If we had the money for it Lemina and Mendes would by my choice in there.

Hiya warrington its all about opinions if you think DRINKWATER isn't better than NOBLE then you need a break at the priory mate ill just say one thing do you think noble would attract attention from CHELSEA like DRINKWATER did he's in a completely different league too NOBLE and RICE mate. COYI.

Hiya HAMMERTIME how can you judge DIOP and BALBUENA on two halves of football and in the first game BALBUENA was class and DIOP is improving game by game now i'm not saying ZOUMA would not fit in i'd take him at the drop of a hat but if you judge people too early FERGUSON wouldn't have been the best manager ever to breathe air and HENRY wouldn't have been in the top 3 premier league striker of all time probably him and SHEARER the best with BERGKAMP. COYI.

As a Chelsea fan, Barkley has really impressed in pre-season. RLC is up in the air- available but for a high price. Zouma I think might go on loan but a purchase option would be quite hefty. Drinkwater is definitely available.

whorya its often said that some foreign players can take time to settle into the premier league sure look at pires at arsenal or vidic and evra at united in recent years. or a bit closer to home under bilic the season he signed tore, callieri, emenike, and zaza when none got off the mark. i am not saying they are not going to turn out well for us because for every tore there will be a payet but it is risky putting all your faith in two players from exotic leagues at the heart of defense (especially with our track record of foreign unknowns and player injuries) . thought diop has looked shaky in preseason so far and yea balbeuna has looked solid to his credit, but would be nice to have a safety blanket of a few players with decent prem experience too especially if playing 3 at the back we will need numbers. ogbonna has his moments too so the more the merrier imo.

whorya66 - Drinkwater is not in a differnt league to Noble, arguably noble has performed at a consistent level in the prem for a lot longer than he has and he's had some pretty dire partners in midfield with him aswell.

Do not underestimate noble as a player I think quite a lot of people undervalue what he brings to the team. and of course chelsea wouldn't come calling even if he scored 10 goals and got 10 assists while maintaining his high average amount of tackles and interceptions per game because he's west ham through and through and would never go to Chelsea.

Leicester had chelsea over a barrel for him paid 35m just because he's English and contributes to there home grown player count. As for your comment about rice he's 19 drinkwater was not showing such potential rice is at that age and he's improving rapidly to i believe he will be many many levels above drinkwater and could easily out perform him this season.

Please please please noble has got away with it for the past 2 years because we didn't have anyone better look back when obiang got injured we struggled coincedence i'm not being rude iron al but al this bollocks about being west ham through and through so am i and i can't get a game and i suppose he is earning 50,000 a week there's a reason he's never been on anyones radar EVER because he ain't good enough name me one club you have ever heard be interested because i'm a 45 year long supporter so don't make none up, your really going to aay noble is better than drinkwater because rest assured if chelsea would have said to noble we will double your wages he'd still be at west ham do me a favour it would never happen i'm absolutely flabbergasted people think nobles a good footballer watch the last half of the season he gave the ball away no end and interceptions really i could beat him over 20 metres he's paceless and ain't strong enough and rice ain't as good as you think he got the run around at preston yes preston i'm not saying he hasn't got takent but don't start bigging up plyers before they've done anything what your saying given a choice out of noble, rice, drinkwater, you go with our two if yes you ain't a football man your judging through west ham tinted specs al and i ain't being rude i go with roughly 10-12 supporters and not 1 of us rates noble and would sell him tomorrow if he came on the market what price would you put on noble mate i understand its about opinions but without noble we would be a better and stronger team by a mile why do you think we were bang in trouble i will tell you why because our back four wasnt given any cover because of noble and kouyate not because of the back four who weren't great but they were totally exposed any team that came on to us their midfield had loads of time to look up then look up again without a challenge coming in they are dreadful both of them i don't personally know 1 west ham fan i talk too not 1 that wouldn't sell both of them and i swear on my kids life al. COYI.

Sorry whorya66, I tend to be on the side of Iron Al . Drinkwater is no better than noble skill wise it’s that he is younger.
He had an amazing season when Leicester won the league hence the England call up. Noble by all accounts also had a great season but Leicester were on fire.
We all were saying that noble should have got in the England squad that season but drinkwater had a better season as well.
Chelsea signed him to keep their intake of English players
And as he had a good season but he has not repeated that and to be fair was never good enough to get in chelski squad - not Barkley for That matter. âš’.

I don't think the fact Drinkwater attracted Chelsea and then didn't make their team suggests in any way that he is better than Noble. All it says is that Chelsea have far more cash than most teams and can spend 35m on a English back up. I agree their isn't much in it between them both, and for that reason i'd stick with Noble 100% than spend 20m. Having a good engine does not mean a player will be better at interceptions and tackles etc, its naive to think that. Kouyate has an engine and so does Obiang, yet Nobes was our best player at recovering the ball based on OPTA stats by a long way. Its discipline and a good read of the game that makes a good holding DM player, look at Carrick as an example. Rice is showing signs of having all the attributes.

Whorya, Look at the stats they can tell a lot. yes our defence was exposed horribly last season but we couldn't hold onto the ball long enough in the final third maybe that's why we have been linked and signed many players that can hold onto the ball in attacking positions so we can play the way pellegrini wants. not to mention countless injurys and Joe Hart in goal.

As for kouyate was probably his worse season yet imagine playing with him the amount of times he would give the ball away from poor passes and loose touches.
