Being battle hardened West Ham fans, we kind of expect the masochism of the roller coaster ride, followed by our deserved and earned right to bitch and moan about it. But I for one thought this season will be different (at least after the man city game). Now like every year comes the doubt.

We were absolutely abismal in Europe and yes I know we put out second string teams etc, but many of these players are our backups! We have lost to bournemouth and Leicester at home where we were poor, we have lost to Leicester reserves away. So what does this tell us? have we peaked?

Are we really as good as we think? Let's be honest, we have had some fantastic results with deserved plaudits from all quarters, but equally none of us can deny we have also had some luck, or even a lot of luck! The only game where we have outplayed the opposition is against Newcastle and let's be fair they are a very poor side this year. So I think Norwich is a big game for us, and for me a must win as it is a game we should dominate. We have scored in every fixture and our conversion rate is an unsustainable 20%.

Personally I think we have to set up to attack not counter attack and we have the players to do this.We need options we cannot be predictable. All said and done, come Saturday evening we will all either be exercising our right to moan or still enjoying the high of the West Ham roller coaster!

Agreed and I for one want to enjoy the rollercoaster ride for as long as I can. There is no doubt we've had our fair share of luck, but how many other teams will go to Emirates, Anfield and Etihad and come away with 3 points? With possibly our hardest fixtures of the season out the way let's just see if we can push on and get some consistency.

I would suggest that the only way we will do this would be to keep the same starting 11, even if this means leaving Carroll on the bench.

There was a marked difference against Leicester the other night with Carroll and Zarate and not for the better (Ok, Zarate scored a deflected goal). At the back we look shaky with Collins in and not as convincing as we were previously.

I'd like to see Tomkins back at RB and drop Jenkinson who I'm not convinced about this season

I'd like to see us go with 2 up top for the home games against the teams lower in the league I'd play Carroll and sakho off him with payet and moses on the flanks tbh we defiantly need a plan b and for me Carroll provides that perfectly he hasn't played for a while but if he can get fit he can be a good player again for us I think and of course later in the season we still have valencia to come back aswell

I don't think we have had a lot of luck this season, or put it another way, you make your own luck in life? At Emirates we were fantastic and Arsenal were not in it at all. No luck. Anfield, well Lanzini chase down the defender, made his own luck, we scored, but the other 2 goals no luck. Manchester City, well we knew they would bombard us in that match, so they trained for that, they saw it through. Some of the ricochets were a bit fortunate not to go in, but we had chances to score more, well a score draw on luck here.

Leicester & Bournemouth, well nothing went our way, and anything we did wrong, the opponents scored, things went their way. Leicester 1st goal, Adrian great save, bounces to their player, (bad luck), they score. I think a lot of bad luck against us, overall.

For me, there's not a lot of luck at all. Just brilliant play from a highly engaged, positive Team that wants to create history. coyi.

Agree completely with Brooking, amazing start to the season for my mighty West Ham United. Should have had one stonewall penalty and potentially another in the cup game so we can't complain about the outcome, we were outplayed but some could say were robbed. Anyway onto Norwich, nothings easy in the premier league, everyone beats everyone, its been like that for a few seasons now. I hope for 3 points, would just about settle for 1 and clearly won't be happy coming away from Upton Park with a loss tomorrow! COYI

Exactly right Brooking . I didn't see any luck involved with the Liverpool game . just a well executed counter attacking game where we played em off the park

I don't see any luck in it, I see we play a compact style, get back are set out well and play out fast on the break. Great when we play the better teams but when we are the home team or the favored team we don't have a plan b where we can dominate the game or put pressure on higher up the park. We will come unstuck as one trick ponies too often and we need to find a passing game that puts pressure on the lower sides in the league and those around us or we will quickly slip down to mid table and beyond.
