No decent rumours. that's the problem. all we get is twitter speculation from a 13 year old, what kind of basis is that. people are laughing at us. sort it NOW

So it looks like we're getting Downing in the next few days.6mil 4 year contract. What does everyone think?

Not impressed with downing his service to a/c was really poor when they played at lfc

Neither player was given much of a shout at Liverpool, and they didn't play together much either. No matter what anyone says or thinks about either of them, they're both England internationals who performed well prior to joining Liverpool, much the same as Joe Cole. In BFS we trust.

Just to discuss a few points about media. this is how it works. selling clubs do not usually advertise that a player is for sale. rumour,. media to club is such a player being asked about. answer we have had enquiries from a London premier league club. not in European competition. this type of answer is how rumours are built and circulate. enquiries. talks. offers. talks to agents. and or chairmen. does not constitute a formal written bid. all these things take place before formal bid. that is how the association with so many players can happen. Tottenham for example have made enquiries for more than 25 players. however they don't seem to get as much press (bale apart) as whu. perhaps we attract the wrong kind of attention. probably the media feel encouraged through twitter channels. the club should consider stopping this. nothing wrong with rumours its allpart of the game. but some of them have been laughable. if not fans wishful thinking which is understandable. In last post I omitted two facts. Our bid for Bony was by instalment. Swansea paid up front. there was not an agreed price for the Austrian forward. never got that far.

Carlton cole is not, was not and never will be premiership class. Nice bloke but nowhere near good enough.

Nor is Vaz te. Carthorse could hold the ball up well. never going to set the world alight but as an option i, d ratherhave him than no one and thatsthe way its heading. we can't put everything on AC it, ll end in tears. look around the league, look at the clubs that finished around us last season, every one of em has strengthened, Bony swansea, Remy newcastle. we can't be blind to this, something has got to happen or its hell in a handcart
