I think we have all now realised that
West Ham have done nothing for the
last few weeks since promotion except
to try and grab as much press coverage
as possible. The Man Utd's etc of this world quietly go about their business until a deal is virtually done and then (and only then) is it advertised to the world.
Whilst I applaud the West Ham board
for making a stand and stating they
will not pay extravagent wages, its not
helped them bring players in and to compound matters they then APPARENTLY offer
a player £90k a week, or did they?
Its becoming quickly apparent that West Ham finally need to sieze the bull by the horn
and re-build the current team into a
squad big enough and capable enough
to firstly survive but also compete in the Premier League.
They had a long hard season last year and its now time that they invest wisely to
maintain Hammers status as a
Premier League team playing from a
fantastic stadium. OR, are they going to
become the Yo Yo team

This is what i don't get, if they want to move to stratford ( Gold & Sullivan) , we must stay in the prem....it's that simple! we will find it very hard to do this if we don't get 4/6 players in..... and fast. we need RB, LB,CB.....a creative midfielder, a left winger and a striker that will get at least 15 goals in this league.

I agree with the wage structure issues when it comes to player like the ones we have. Not many of them are worth big salary's. HOWEVER.....if we do want to bring int two or 3 "quality" players who willensure our survival...would it not be better to make exceptions to the rule based upon experience, quality and what they have achieved. Lets be fair, we don't expect to get paid less in our day to day jobs if we have achieved a lot do we ? By this I mean players like Tevez who has done well wherever he's played, Full International etc. ( Im not saying Tevez before people jump all over me but players like Tevez ).
Sometimes, you have to speculate to accumulate. They say that moving into the Olympic stadium will generate more money, but if they are tight on wages and only buying players who will accept our wage structure ( whcih with all due respect are players who know that's all they are worth )...then we are going to end up in s*** street, back in the Championship with a half full Olympic stadium !!

Wo thinks Michael Owen could be a good signing?

Nope he's a has been !!

Michael Owen would have been a good signing,The problem with Owen is he would not move away from Chester and his racing stables.

Diame is a great signing, Collins is the type of player we needed to sign and Maida could turn out to be a cracking sign but may struggle in the PL. Bidding for Carroll was ridiculous quite frankly because he is not what we need at the moment. If we sign Moussa Konaté who is a class act and a workhorse we will be fine in the striker department. We need to sign a genuinely pacy winger, a right back to keep pressure on Demel, another good CB to keep pressure on Collins and Tomkins, Richardson at LB would be nice and different type of player to McCartney and we need an attacking CM with a bit more quality, pace and trickery than Nolan to give us another option. We desperately need to make some good signings soon.

Why was we gona waste all that money on flop andy Carroll anyway surely that mOney we was going to spend on him be better to buy a few decent players

No need for Carroll, Boldock scores again in pre season.

In a 3-1 loss to Northampton... This was also our youth team as the 1st team are in Portugal preparing for last warm up game ....... Not 1 to start rumours but don't you think it's strange that baldock was left behind to play with the youth team ????
