Hi fellas; whilst we have the time; I would like to get fellow fans views on the transfer windows as they are at present; should we return to the time when transfers could take place 365 days a year; stay as we are; or have one window instead of two? I understand there is a huge debate coming seasons end by the powers that be in regard to this; MY OWN VIEW ; is one window not during season; but open june ist (as now) until 11pm night before first premiership game; I think this long enough and would stop January desperation tactics; this of course would make free agents a little more valuable but would make it a slightly more level playing field IRONMIKE

{Ed001's Note - for the smaller clubs, it is better for them to be able to sell later in the season, when a player's value is at its highest. For instance, Crewe were able to consistently stay in the Championship before windows were introduced simply by being able to hang onto their top players for most of the season. Once the window was introduced, they were forced to sell before the season, simply to ensure they had the finance to make it through the season, rather than just wait until they ran short of money during the season. A successful cup run could enable them to not sell anyone at all, so keeping their youngsters in the side for another season. For me, the windows are just an added advantage for the biggest of clubs.}

For me it's great as it is from an entertainment perspective. Pre season then Jan when those at the bottom panic -love it.
