slysports reporting that remy should be joining newcastle in the next 48 hrs well g/s need to get this guy already proven in the prem and only a loan ffs

Agree especially on a loan with option to buy. As I've said previously he's exactly what we need. He's got bags if pace which were missing in our team. Can play as a right sided striker/ winger off caroll and play as the loan striker when carols out for 2 to 3 months of the year. Clinical finisher, already got a season in the BPL under his belt, good header of the ball, 6ft odd, right age. The list goes on. If you can get him on loan to safe guard ourselves from any pending charges it's a no brainier! Our teams screaming out for goals and pace, say we need about 3 signings to have a half decent season. However feel we're waiting on loans once teams announce their squads. Bony looks class, think we were just using him as a smoke screen to entice Caroll to sign. The thing is we went all out on Caroll he suits our style of play as long as BFS is in charge. It's just annoying because all the fans would love to finish 10th like last season or slightly better. However most of the teams that finished just above us or just below us have improved much more than us. Not to mention our second season will probably be more difficult. If you look at our starting 11 compared to last season we've only really improved at left back. On a positive note look where we were 2 years ago. The teams a lot stronger and were in the OS in 3 years. Having Morrison and Diarra in the team should be like 2 new signings and I'm predicting a good season from Joe Cole. I suppose patience is the key. By the time we get to the OS we may even be considering the Europa League. All said and done I still think there's a couple of decent signings that could be made and if our wage bill is of concern we could do with getting rid of RVT and Taylor. I know some people go on about the fact that RVT scored the winner in the playoffs to get us in the prem but I have to say both of these are championship players and its time to move on! As it stands at the moment I'm thinking a top 15 finish. With a couple of decent attacking players-another top 10 finish. COYI

Sick of hearing how we are linked with such and such. We've had all summer to nail down strikers or wingers and we done nothing. We got players on our staff that are not premier league quality and at best Championship. They have to go ie Matt Taylor and RVT. If we get an injury or two especially to strikers we are stuffed

The davids are probs looking for one last parachute payment b4 the OS move it must be it because why on earth are they risking our Prem status by being so quiet!

I agree, I am sick of hearing we are linked to every player under the sun, and then nothing materialises. A lot of it is probably gossip and nothing more but it is very frustrating nonetheless. I hope we get someone soon!
It is simple, we need a striker who can pay in the lone striker role in Sam's team. We keep being linked with players with no PL experience and would hence be a complete unknown in the league, a risky deal considering some of them would cost a fair amount. Likelihood is they will play second fiddle to AC as well! The player realistically needs to be cheap, have PL experience, fit Sam's mixed playing style and also willing to be on the bench a fair amount. The only player for me who ticks the boxes is Darren Bent, and I for one would be OK with him at the Club as backup for AC. Would cost very little and could chip in with 10+ goals over the season in our team. Villa have been a poor team the last few seasons and in a team like ours Bent would be an OK player as we could play to his strengths where Villa did not and were in all a poor team. He would be good value as backup for AC.
I would prefer Hooper or Rhodes but Hopper has no PL experience and is now gone anyway, and Rhodes will cost a lot and has no PL experience. We have had our marquee signing in AC and we need backup for him. Remy would be good but I don't like his attitude, he cannot cross the ball so would be useless on the right, and his court case would just draw unwanted attention to the club. Good luck to Newcastle with him.

Bent turned us down before never keen on players that are on there last legs villa want 6mill for him and he is injury prone where as remy 2mill loan fee can play on his own upfront or on the wingcause let's face it we need a striker who can scorebecause let's face it anything can happen to a/c and if a striker steps up and puts 10 goals away 1st 4 games then he makes his own postion
