After the same old puff and pant football the same old blah blah blah. same rubbish from Sam every week. just go. !! West Ham needed a striker in the summer and never bought one. Very lucky they have a half decent defense

Nothing here that any supporter can't agree wth we do have a decentedefence but they don't look likey to keep clean sheets against top clubs were just scaping along at the bottom our need for not one but two strikers becoming more apparent by the week dreadfull lack of forethought by those in charge at club sam as I said before is foraging around in mls looking for another loanee or permanent player I understand there has been some contact with the agent of graziano pelle and the reps of finbogussan problem is we've heard all af this before. Defoe isbeing shown the door by Tottenham he's 31 but knows were the goal is if we don't nab him qpr will very disappointed with villa game couldn't get one blooming goal IRONMIKE

Why is everyone caning BFS for the lack of a signing? He gave Gollivan a list in the summer, and they did not land anyone. Sam, never mind what you think of his game plans, has done nothing wrong since he has been at WHU, and as for all of you who were banging on about other clubs who have strengthened compared to us, in particular Norwich, where are you now. We would all like some more options, but we all need to realise where we are in the pecking order. This isn't Fantasy Football, it's real life. You will never have to defend your decisions or opinions, because they will never be challenged on the pitch. I am amazed at the vitriol that is spouted on this site, and, frankly, am fed up with it.

Doc,
Reasonable comment as always. Board Sam and players ( apart from Maiga who has just looked too timid) are doing the club proud. It is however proving to be a very "flat" season where it's difficult to be be pleased all the time with scraping a result with no strikers. Last 2 games were there for the taking.

Doc some fans are caning bfs because he choose to sign downing believing he would be signing a good back up striker on loan
which didn't happen,
lets get it right in the jan window 2/3 out sales or loans I don't care which and a quality striker in would like to see demba ba back.
loan to buy,
strikers in jan carroll ba petric lee other than us being blunt upfront we look pretty solid mid/def I hope g/s b/bfs have learned from this f/u it cost them money and put pressure on a team that could have been midtable looking up rather down self inflicted that's what pisses me off.

DOc, if your fed up then don;t read

Doc can read moan whinge congratulate on this site as much as he likes because that's what its here for noticed you didn't leave a name????????

Big Sam did give the board a list in the summer and top of it was Carroll which as we all know was exactly what he got so he could use his tried and tested long ball tactics, he also got Downing to supply quality for Carroll but ask any Liverpool fan and they'll tell you it didn't work for them. I think every fan should voice their opinion but sometimes people look at BFS through rose tinted glasses, we didn't gain automatic promotion under him and in the play off final Blackpool played better football than us but we went up and surprised a lot of teams last season but teams are wise to our tactics and my opinion is that BFS hasn't got a plan b or c. Hope we stay up and the board can get us a manager who get us playing OUR style of football who can disagree with wanting to see us passing teams of the park and winning in style rather than scrapping for 1-0 wins at home. I'm grateful for what BFS has done for us and think we should see the season out with him and hope we stay up but next season get a progressive manager in to spend the boards money who want us to get the ball on the deck and play the beautiful game (if Swansea can do it why can't we) Chris COYI

Afraid I have to agree with Chris. Its not all Sam's fault but he must have asked the board to get Downing rather than the striker he needed. Ok, downing may have been a bargain but we clearly need a striker. Defoe talk is encouraging just hope we can afford his wages

Is big sam just papering over the cracks which a fairly clear. We missed a trick in the summer transfer window by not making serious strides for another striker. Don;'t tell me we got a class striker in Big Andy carroll because we all knew he wasn;t going to start the season and he would be out for quite some time. If for one moment they ever thought MAIGA could fill the void they were dreaming and then to top it all we bring back Carlton Cole. If we can stay out of the bottom 3 by christmas and then get Jordan Rhodes esq player we may just have that cutting edge to salvage something from the season. So much for Allardyce's plan to throw high balls up to his big striker

Yep, I think he is just papering over the cracks which are getting bigger. Time to get rid

I think its quite apparent to all that we desperatley need not only a striker but one that can hold the ball up and score goals. ANyone got any thoughts
