Have been thinking with the shoe on the other foot a bit recently and I think the unfortunate change in the seasons results have clouded a few peoples visions with regards to certain things. Firstly it obvious we had a great start to the season, where did it all go wrong? For me it has to be down to the managers attitude rubbing off on all the players. Not that he is a poor manager, far from it as he has done his job for a few seasons now, but more to do with his general personality. The guy is clearly too far up his own gary to see out his final days at the club or to work hard towards another year lapping up another few million quid. The stubbornness and arrogant attitude is clearly what's damaging the team. I feel sorry for the boys not having a proper leader to boost the moral and gear them up every week to go out and win! But that's what its come to and I can't help but sympathise with the players for the lack of leadership and motivation. Now on to the players, first and foremost Alex Song. He isn't superman like some people may think (or thought at the start of the season) but his talent is simply unquestionable. Not just his ability, its off the pitch that makes the difference, he gets on with the team, It seems they all have a laugh and that back room bonding for me is what needs to happen for the new improved West Ham to move forward in the next couple of seasons. For me he would still be a priority signing for around the money that Barca are after. Its a shame he is now being linked to Inter in a swap for their prized possession. Next up would be Carl Jenkinson, he clearly isn't getting back into the Arsenal squad what with Bellerin and Debuchy, so its obvious he wants in at West Ham. Pay the money to arsenal and give him a 5 year deal, he is too suited to our desired style of play to miss out on. Now all the board have to do is bring in a couple of top class players in the summer and slightly upgrading the fringe players such as Demel, Cole, Nolan, Obrien, Jarvis, Jussi, that must be on their way out without fail. this I don't know much about, more Mikes forte with the inside info on scouting activity etc. A final point is that 2 or 3 youth players must be included in the squad for next season, Burke, Oxford and possibly Lee for a start. I'm just thinking about what could have been had the fatboy not been so unprofessional in the last few months, let's hope we appoint the right people who want this as much as the fans do COYI
