There are of course players without fees next to them but i'm not going to make that up, looking at the team we have with carlton cole already going, diarra most likely not going to stick around, gary oneil not the way forward and the likes of taylor and mcartney not really needed. I can see from what we have signing one of the CB's and most likely simpson for free as I don't think allardyce rates spence, but personally i'd prefer to give our own youth players the chance. I think signing benat would be massive after looking at his record, get in jonjo shelve too and definitely a winger with Dzsudzsak sounding like a very good player, but both Redmond and Sinclair being young English players appeals to me too.
When you consider 5 signings being our target we have normally exceeded these targets under gold and Sullivan, so a LB (done), RB, CB, 2 CM, Winger is already more than 5. But I can see us signing 2-3 strikers depending on modibo maigas situation, I like the player and think he should be given another season, so signing carroll is a must and preferably lukaku on loan, then I think our business will be done. But with or without maiga having one of the other 4 strikers wouldn't hurt, with bent or hooper seeming the most likely as Rhodes has already said he's like to stay at Blackburn. These are just my opinions from reading the rumours going around, but I am all for giving our youth a go too and think with the likes of hall, turgott, Morrison, lee, moncur, legtet, potts, spence, chambers etc I think we have some potential stars and need to give them a chance.
