And that my friends is why we have missed our defensive partnership of Collins and Tomkins. 90mins on the back foot and still Chelsea couldn't get one past us! Great defensively, real poor attacking but that can be sorted with a simple formation change (he might give in soon). Anyway Adrian is the future in between our sticks as well, he was unbelievable tonight. As for Collins and Tomkins though I thought that the ruff and tumble throughout the whole game just showed how much they were up for taking that point! Little stat to finish, Chelsea haven't failed to score at home for over a year - if that isn't something to shout about then I don't know what is, COYFI!!

Well said matey

If City land Eliaquim Mangala tomorrow and we reach a deal for Maiga, Lescott is back on the cards. Would be a tough one to seal but City would be prepared to loan him until the end of the season and let him go in the summer. Then obviously west ham wouldn't turn down someone of his calibre, given that there is a space in the squad. I even think we would simply release someone to free up a space if Lescott showed some interest over the next couple of days

Why stop at maiga i'd out taylor and send vaz te out on loan with an option to recall him

Not Taylor's biggest fan but he was unbelievable tonight!

Am I the only one a little disappointed with the signings we have made this transfer window?

Roger Johnson - Notorious relegation defender. Won't start when Reid, Collins and Tomkins are all available for selection, so no improvement to the squad.

Antonio Nocerino - According to Opta Stats, has been AC Milan's worst performer in each game he has played this season. He has only played 807 minutes out of the 16 games he has featured in (all competitions). He is not a combative central midfielder, nor is he a ball playing central midfielder. He is a box to box player. Will he start in games when our central midfielders are fit? I don't think so.

Marco Borriello - In recent years he has been a top notch striker in Serie A. This season he has only played 515 minutes of football, featuring as a substitute in half of the games he has played in and only completing 1 full 90 minutes of football, scoring 1 goal. Will he start in games when Carroll is fully fit?

I can't help but think there were better options available this transfer window, deals that other clubs have made that we should have fought for. For example.

Joleon Lescott - Centre Back
Michael Essien - Centre Midfield
Raul Meireles - Centre Midfield
Jonas Gutierrez - Anywhere across the Midfield
Bryan Ruiz - Winger
Clint Dempsey - Winger
Jermaine Defoe - Forward
Nikica Jelavic - Forward
Shane Long - Forward

Admittedly, a deal for Lescott or Meireles COULD still potentially come off if we ship out some of our 25 man squad fringe players, but we don't need 5 central defenders so Lescott is highly unlikely. Similar scenario with Meireles.

No your not the only one I posted a little while ago that I was completely underwhelmed by the 2 italian signings and could not see where all the optimism was coming from with our january transfer dealings but did not get much agreement. glad it not just me.
