OK here goes with the reality check.
I read the posts on this site every single day but don't write my own very often because anyone who dares to disagree with IRONMIKE seems to get trod on, however, I do appreciate and enjoy your posts IRONMIKE I just wish you were a bit more humble and accepting of other peoples opinions. so here is mine: we all think we are experst and know best, but we dont, that's why SB is the manager and not any of us, it is a well known fact that new signings can and often do take weeks or months to settle into a new club and a new country and produce their best form so give the new boys a chance eh. Yes we should have played with more pace and passion in the first half on Thursday night but let's get used to the idea that EVERY team that comes to our new home is going to have the same game plan, defend with nine or ten men behind the ball and hit us on the break, that is the reality for the rest of the season and beyond, we are a scalp now and we need to get used to it. It is really difficult to break down well organised teams who play that way no matter how good you think you are. GET USED TO IT GUYS. Personally I hate European football with all the playacting and crap refs so I am glad were out, but the whinging on this site is making us sound like gooners for christs sake. Come of fellas, get a grip, were only two games in.

ClothCap, what a voice of reason you are! I like you read this site everyday and relish the updates but feel everything you have said is bang on! Would love to see Bony in Claret and Sky though .

26 Aug 2016 22:24:09
we have actually played 6 competetive games this year, not 2 and I really have to say how are we a scalp because we got to quater final of FA cup and finished 7th in the league? Accrington might see us s a major scalp but I dout any team in the premier league thinks of us in the same ilk as man u or chelski

we were never going to breakdown a team when at home playing with a defensive midfielder as you point out teams like that come to defend so our formation was wrong in my eyes.

26 Aug 2016 22:43:41
Cloth Cap, your being very hard on me! Everybody on this site has an opinion which I always respect BUT I don't have to agree with, and they don't have to agree with. me I'm not always right NOBODY is principally because football changes so fast, it's difficult to pin things sometimes, when you get there it's moved on i'm Sure you get the picture, regards IRONMIKE.

I believe the posters point has just been proved.

27 Aug 2016 08:03:21
I rest my case.

Ok folks just listen -
We have lost to crap sides before ( most years in the FA cup! ) . It's not panic stations but the injuries are a concern, new players will add new dimensions and the returning players wil add more creativity and class . It will only get better :) only negative I will say is that the atmosphere in the top tier on Thursday night was quite BUT that might be just the noise from below didn't carry, come in the top tier make our own noise!

Hi fellas, Lazaar just got five year contract at Newcastle, IRONMIKE.

26 Aug 2016 13:23:56
Payet and lanzini ain't going nowhere guys chill out.

26 Aug 2016 12:25:25
Positions there's a lack of confidence and knowing to look to to put the ball in the back of the net. Hopefully we sign Zaza this weekend and as our players come back I think our attacking lineup will be Payet, Lanzini, Fegouli and Zaza. Carroll, Fletcher, Ayew and Antonio as backup. Jury's out on Calleri and Tore. I expect Calleri to come good when he adapts to the pace of the league and as for Tore we shall see. Good thing he's on loan. He has encouraging moments when he looks skillful, good touch, pass. but looks lazy and doesn't track back. Needs a bit of bite! Hopefully this will improve as the team improves. as for Carroll, Sakho and Valencia it's a matter of time before there out the door. We NEED Zaza to sign, we NEED an experienced right back, we NEED the physios to work round the clock and earn a pound note, we then NEED the window to shut, the Club to be off the back pages and social media sites dragging our name through the mud. Bilic and he's team need to drill these low life's and get them playing good football again leaving absolutely everything on the pitch EVERY WEEK and making us happy proud hammers again.

Cannot believe what's happened since May. These last couple of months have been an embarrassment! Stadium mock ups, PR shenanigans, transfers failings. the list goes on and on. one thing I was sure on was Bilic. After Sam he was a breath of fresh air last season. He seemed on it in regards to tactics and his passion was infectious and running right through the team. He's been playing people out of positions which is winding up the fans and causing unrest in the squad. He's tactics are concerning and above all we seem to have lost our fight! Yes we will play better with Payet and Lanzini in the team but that's no accuse. Latest what I've seen from Bilic and the team is not good enough! Everything right through the club at the moment just seems to be half cooked. Seriously need an experienced Right Back and am concerned that the club haven't seen this an acted on it. look at Leicester last season. A solid back 4 who regularly played week in and week out. Any successful team has to have a strong defence first and foremost. Ogbonna is clearly our best defender and were missing Cresswell. Reid can be sceptical at times and this is not being helped by the right back position. In fact the defenders are all over the place and the midfielders are thinking more about behind them than in front of them. When we do manage to get the ball in attacking positions.

If zaza signs today or tomorrow can he play sunday vs city?

26 Aug 2016 11:48:04
WHY NOT? Depending if he's ready to go, no one else can score a goal! IRONMIKE.

26 Aug 2016 11:57:10
if he's fit enough then yes.

26 Aug 2016 10:40:03
Apperantly payet is not yet ready for man city game! Really?
More like we are selling him
The board got the stadium they always wanted, the signings this year have been below par! Don't see us improving on last year!

26 Aug 2016 11:15:06
I don't want Payet going anywhere, but if he is, Best they sell him quick then and get replacements as soon as possible instead of messing about! And get a flippin Right Back.

26 Aug 2016 10:38:57
Hi fellas, this is the way forward for me quickly as the market ends Wednesday night, STOP obiang sale, SEND Burke Nordvielt and Valencia out on loan to championship clubs immediately, GET IN Lazaar, Shelvey, Richards or Trippier, just three in NOT much money spent RE intergrate sakho wether we like it or not, , PUT Reid on the Bench, with Calleri start Fletcher until the injured returned, and As we are stuck with him for a season GIVE TORE a broom so he can sweep up He MIGHT be able to do that IRONMIKE.

26 Aug 2016 11:17:32
Agreed. But I would try and cash in on Valencia. I'd try and get REMY or DEFOE (Both score for fun when fit)!
And address the flippin RB situation!

I'm beginning to think we're losing the plot letting Obiang go!

26 Aug 2016 10:26:30
Hindsight is a fine thing but I wonder what the score would have been if we had secured the services of a Defoe or Remy in the summer? Just shows the need for urgency in todays transfer market and also the need to stop trying to get cheap bargains ie Nordvedt, Tore and Calleri! Get what you pay for in this life!

26 Aug 2016 19:56:03
Spot on I am afraid we have fallen into the old trap of quantity over quality. For all the good GandS have done for the club you can't take the barrow boy out of them they will always to try to get players on the cheap it's what they have done all their lives it's how they made their millions. The two players I think will come good are ayew and masuaku who we paid proper pound notes for; which they should learn from but I wouldn't hold you breath.

26 Aug 2016 10:11:28
Everyone's moaning about last and I understand that and I get that it shouldn't take us to 1 down for us to start playing we should battered then buy when the opposition keeper has a night like he did last night then there's not a lot we can do and I know how we all feel about valencia but there was a point in the game last night where we tracked all the way back after losing the ball to win it now if Tore had done that for there goal then they wouldn't of scored but I defiantly agree Fletcher needs more game time and he was one of the bright sparks from last night, all in saying don't look at the negatives look for the positives (I know there wasn't many ) and also when we have are players back from injury we will be a different side and this RB situation me personally I would like to stick to Byram I know he's young and can make mistakes but who doesn't but I like him and the way he get stuck in and isn't afraid is a good sign so I personally would like for us to keep with him.

26 Aug 2016 08:50:46
I think we may have missed a trick with Valencia also as the Aston Villa hints at him not joining them, could be smokescreen but if we getting Zaza we GOT to offload him. Also get rid of sulking Sakho and we'll have Calleri, Fletcher (has to be given more game time), ZAZA and AC and WE HAVE TO HAVE A RB who knows what he is doing. 9 first team players missing last night everybody!

26 Aug 2016 08:23:58
Morning all

Now that I've calmed down and had time to digest that performance we have to get back to transfers. Last night showed the difference between a player who plays as a striker and what we have needed all summer, and try as we might we've been unable to get one. OK, we were very poor first half (I'm not entirely sure what was the mindset. Were we playing for 0-0?) . Second half however we were a lot better, creating chances which the goalkeeper kept out and on another day we could have had 2 or 3. Tore and Nordvedt showed why they were loans and are at best squad players. Poor control, passing and poor positional play especially by Tore who, if he had tracked back would have prevented the goal. Byram's choice to play crossfield to Burke was poor but Tore should have been covering as Kouyate had taken up his position on the right. Too many crossfield balls between the back four in the first half with no urgency and no creativity (Same old story without Payet and Lanzini) . Yes, we've been unlucky with injuries, but we should be smashing teams like Astra and treating them with contempt and beating them 4 or 5 even with the team we put out last night. Valencia is NOT a premier league striker despite what his mum says and the sooner he is sent packing the better. We also showed last night the NEED for a RB who is a genuine RB. All summer we've been screaming for a RB and AGAIN we were found wanting at the same position. A lot of people don't like Micah Richards, but his posiotnal awareness as a RB is not bad compared to what we have and he has experience so doesn't make daft choices. In a way, I'm glad we are out so we can concentrate on the league and improve our squad. I have my concerns over our training methods because too many injuries and niggles are being picked up between games? Is ZAZA the answer to our striker problems? I Hope so but (controversial here) someone like REMY I believe is more clinical. He scored a Hat trick pre season for Chelsea with very little playing time under his belt so maybe he is worth a shot.

The long and the short of it is that we have English teams ie Liverpool, Everton who last night would have tore into Astra but we couldn't. Twice in two seasons we have let a golden opportunity slip through our grasp and maybe its for the better, because if we can't beat them what chance against the likes of Zenit and Milan. On the positive side FLetcher was very good and has to be given more playing time. Calleri could have had a couple and shows good hold up play and good touch but he needs more time to adjust. We HAVE to HAVE more urgency and players have to be released and replaced (Valencia out ZAZA in and keep Byram for cups and replace him with Tore being used sparingly using Feghouli and Antonio out wide)

26 Aug 2016 04:34:46
I am a little concerned with recent games? I know we are missing a lot of players? but still should win against teams like Astra? i'm kinda glad we are out why? we haven't got enough players in the squad! If Zaza comes great, some Italian magic :) just I feel we really need a right back? haven't replacement Jenkinson or Tomkins who played there when needed! Come on westham. Ps I know Valencia tries his best, but he isn't good enough for a striker? sell him please.
