I think Saturdays performance against Newcastle highlighted the need for another striker at west ham. We should have won by 3 or 4 and to be honest Maiga was unlucky to be off side. The problem is that we have to many players nobody else wants. DOC came up with a brilliant suggestion the other week: Why don;t we approach Blackburn and offer them Matt taylor, George McCartney and RVT plus cash for Rhodes! Its a win win as Blackburn need to strengthen but have no cash and so do we

Good start so far though.

That's a great idea! With the wages that would free up we would be able to get Rhodes and Quagliarella in get rid of 3 players we don't need and all in all it will only cost us a couple of mil. let's hope they're trying something like this! I know it's easy to criticise etc from the sofa but we've got nearly half a dozen players that we could do without and move on and the the people at the top capable of making this happen have had nearly 14 weeks to do this and free up wages and cash. 14 weeks? On reflection on our first two games we look solid and resolute. Against Newcastle Downing was o. k seems like he's got a little way to go regarding sharpness, intensity, directness etc compared to Jarvis and Joe Cole who both look outstanding at the moment. Maiga is not suited in our team. Lightweight and again lacked sharpness and intensity, not a clinical finisher lazy at times and keeps straying offside. Ravel looked sharp and hungry. Excited about the prospect of him turning out in an England team in the near future alongside Wilshere and Barkley. Would love to see him come on a bit more for Nolan but BFS is unlikely to sub his live child. It's because of this were probably lose him next summer to another club. Not sure about Ibrien at left back, he does a job there as we know but his no left back, infact didn't we buy Razvan Rat to solve this problem? From what I heard he had a good ore season and as a natural left back gives us better balance in the team. Obviously bought in like Maiga, Paulista, Chamak etc. And decided shortly after they made a mistake? Our two CBs in Teid and Collins were outstanding as they were last season and as we're lacking in attacking options we need them both to pull off super human performances week in week out. As much as I love Noble because he works his socks off, loves the Hammers, been with us for years etc. Like Stevie G for Liverpool, it's more my heart ruling my head. Does a job but if we now trying to move on a level I think we will eventually need to add a bit more class in midfield, someone whis technically gifted on the ball, a Wilshere type player. Someone who can dictate the play keep possession, and build attacks, again I love Noble but after this season I think it might be time to upgrade. Our away form last season was abysmal so I understand that there's more pressure to get a result away from home, our home form should yet again be good this season but we can't put so much reliance on this! Maybe with Caroll back in the team we would if got a result Saturday against Newcastle, but when your playing Maiga as the lone striker and all your doing us hoofing the ball up to him everytime from Collins it's cringable! It's seems as if BFS is going to be with us for a little while yet and after all thus time I thought I might if got used to it by now but everything relies on Caroll being up top! When his out and unfortunately will no doubt be out throughout the season the whole thing looks uninspiring, lacks imagination and attacking options. At least when Big Andy clatters a couple of defenders and wins one of Collins hoof balls he's capable if holding the ball up for others to run off. If we're not getting another stiker in in the mould of AC (would live Cardoza however a bit out of our budget) as well as an optional stiker to bring on in games to play off the big man (a lively fox in the box who's a giid finisher like a defoe) we will ultimately limp across the line come the end of the season. Anyway I guess the two David's no best in regards to bringing the fair play rules in a year early?

Mccartney is 32 in the last year of his contract and looks to on the long term injury list so highly unlikely to go anywhere vaz te and taylor we would lucky to get 3/4mill for the pair
