Er what the hell was that dross I just witnessed I think I'm in shock why do we play the ball along the back line for so long giving the other team time to get back and mark up. No movement no creativity and two fans had a punch up to the left of me. I'm worried really worried.

Well no tempo first half a bit better in the second. Sorry but Velencia tore were shocking send tore back and sell Velencia quickly. Fletcher has to stay and get more game time. I fear for Sunday's result. The joys of being a hammer.

Everyone makes mistakes, hopefully he gets a rollicking, learns from it and goes on to be a success. Valencia will be sold, his confidence is shot. The person I blame more is the guy picking up however many bags a week, to moan off, act like a spoilt child and not have himself fit enough to either do a job for us or to bog off and do it for someone else. So disappointing but I still believe so many reasons to be positive. Throwing money at the situation does not guarantee results and given we play 1 up most of the time is it worth signing Zaza for mega bucks to shove Calleri and Fletcher down the pecking order? If they don't play, they will not progress.

Forced to comment for first time in ages. No we didn't win and we didn't look like scoring either, especially with their goal keeper having a terrific game. Totally disagree with you Mike on Calleri, yes he has missed a couple of sitters in the last games but he has come from a league where they have more time, so I think he will settle given time. His movement was fantastic and on numerous occasions he made good runs and found space. Unfortunately we simply didn't have the quality to find him. Byram ain't ready period. No first touch and lacks awareness of what is round him. Reid always makes mistakes and is not on form, he should be told he can't dribble, pass it to someone who can. Problem in a nutshell tonight no creativity. Burke out of position and his confidence must be shot, he was responsible for the goal and without his error they couldn't have scored in a brothel. Positives as Mike says we could have a decent season, but will Zaza sign if we are out of Europe? Valencia is not a premier league player too fragile so get rid, Flecher looks quality.

I disagree the goal wasn't burke fault there were 3 players both CBS and nordveit back that all got drawn to the ball not one picked up the goalscorer who was left on his own.

First name on team sheet for Sunday for me would be Fletcher, but we will probably send him out on loan, what a farce tonight really is, we should of strolled through this. I actually worry about this season .

Don't get me wrong I am gutted we are out but like last season could be a blessing in disguise. These fixtures are tough because it's so early on in the season, even more so with new faces coming in and reliable players off the back of a great season out injured. Personally wouldn't read too much into the poor starts of Tore (awful tonight) and Calleri, it as always a long shot they would slot right in and be firing straight away.
Look at this way, in terms of the league fixtures so far we are 2 points up on last season and I think our squad is better equipped this year. Terrible result, performance but let's stay behind the team, hope they grind out some performances until the main guys are back and have another good season. Let's face it Europa is still 2 bob unless you win it and get CL. Fletcher looked great when he came on, would like to see him get some starts, especially with Payet and Lanzini providing better quality service.

we've spent too much money this yer on players that are no better than what we had, I said a few weeks ago with all the signings we've made that our first team is no better than last year, it's simple if we want to improve we need better players, yes we need a squad but not at the deterement of the first team.

NEXT we only got into the competition by virtue of MAN united winning the FA CUP, NEXT FLETCHER will become a player given more game time NEXT our squad is not good enough only the complete, first team is NEXT we need people who can put the ball in the net!, HAVE I missed anything YES by not being in this comlpetition we MIGHT have another good season, BUT I don't Know now wether we can actually beat Accrington in the next cup competition, IRONMIKE.

Ironmike I disagree with you. Calleri should have scored but his movement was good. I think he looks good. Fletcher looks quality. We should have smashed them. Terrible result.

in the last 2 games calleri has had 3 great chances and hasn't taken one, I felt that again for a home game the formation was too negative again why start with a defensive midfielder at home againest a poor side? zaza needs to hit the ground running if he hasn't changed his mind.

WHU the point is this the quality of a striker is putting away gilt edged chances and / or making them for others WHERE does CALLERi fit into that? FLETCHER with more game time will be a player I have no doubt about that I cannot see what is wrong with that MOVEMENT is great if it has an end product, IRONMIKE.

I understand what your saying Mike. Calleri should have sunk those chances but his movement is better than I think you are giving him credit for. Give him time. Fletcher has such incredible potential. Tore was poor tonight - his delivery wast good enough. But my god the ref didn't help us. Clear penalty, Antonios goal should have stood - the defender just fell over, tore was hacked down all over the place. I may just be bitter but honestly the ref couldn't have ruined the game more. I'm incredibly disappointed - don't get me wrong. But when our players come back - we will be a different team. I promise you. Let's hope we wrap Zaza up and he makes himself a hero.

How have we lost again to this team, should of buried them at their ground last week!
So we have not moved any further in this competition than last year! And we look worse as a unit than last year! Noble is now injured too, why are we getting all these injuries!
Really annoyed that we have not moved into group stages, we had all these great expectations and like my dreams they fade and die!
It will be hard now not only to attract decent players but also to hold on to our good players, payet, lanzini, kouyate etc they want European football. And regardless if they have a year or 5 years left on contract, money talks at end of day . We should of sorted out transfers out weeks ago and then maybe we would of gone through. On the plus side thought Fletcher was a breath of fresh air but I'm reading that we are going to send him on loan, what a joke, for me he would start up front of game!

West Ham have been dreadful, tore and nordveit are shockingly bad, we rely heavily on Payet and lanzini and when we have to fall back on those two we are always going to be in trouble.

The latest morsel from CLaret and Hugh suggests that talks are still ongoing with Zaza and we are trying hard to clear up whether it will be loand or permanent deal!
"West Ham are trying hard to bring Simone Zaza to the club. Despite suggestions from the manager this morning that the Carlos Bacca deal may be resurrected that could be a smokescreen as we have learned that Zaza talks are back underway.
We have been told that they are continuing with the Italy international's advisors but at this stage nobody will commit to a likely outcome. We were simply told: "We are trying hard to bring the player in - we are working at it and you can advise fans we are doing all we can. " The talks are still centering on whether this will be a loan or permanent deal with Juventus sticking to their permanent deal only position whilst the Hammers look for a season-long loan and option to buy.
Juve have put a £25 million price tag on the player's head whilst he wants £100k a week in personal terms.

Claret and Hugh, always seem to be miles behind our own Ironmike, as I understand from Mike post is a fee and terms have been agreed for a perm deal and he will be undergoing a medical Saturday as in London tomorrow, unless I have misread. Claret and Hugh are still waiting at Romford station while Mike is already having a pint in Leigh on Sea having walked from Southend along the footpath path.
