Everton fan here.

This isn't a rumour whatsoever, I was just wondering: Is James Collins good? Our home game against you last season was Moyes' last and you could tell because our players looked eager and our performance was superb, but Collins was incredible. In that particular game, he kept you in it and it was one of the best defensive performances I've seen for a long time. In all the other games I've seen him in (not a very large amount, but quite a lot), he has been very impressive as well. He looks strong, relatively quick, dominant in the air and fantastic at tackling. I was wondering whether he genuinely is one of the most underrated defenders in the league, or have I only seen his good side? be honest ;)

Either way, good luck with the new season.

He's a very consistent performer not the best ball player but an old fashion defender take no chances and isn't afraid to put his body on the line I rate him highly never seen him lose out in a header best bit of business sam has done apart from Nolan

Why keep putting these rubbish rumours up! We have maiga who is in good form and andy carroll. Who do we need? If you don't concede you cannot lose, collins and reid look superb at the back!
Get behind the players and let's stop the links with everyone, although I have heard we are being linked with messi.

Yeah and if you don't score you can't win!

We need more goals if we want to push on this season, we've got a really good foundation to our squad but the fact we were the lowest scorer's in league football last season with 11 speaks for itself. It was a good result yesterday but no one can say we don't need more fire power because that's what we need as its the one area of our squad needs improvement. I'm sure G/S and BIg Sam will be bringing someone in. Chris COYI

38 draws would just about keep you up

yesterday wasnt a bad result we just lacked a cutting edge up front and I know we're all bored of hearing how we need a striker but if we'd of had Carroll fit yesterday we would of won the game but we need other options up front. I think Big Sam took Downing off at the wrong time he was just getting into the game but he didn't have the best first half. Collins and Ried were solid yesterday and as I said all we lacked was a cutting edge up front and the fact that we were the lowest scorers away from home acrosS all english leagues with 11 is a worry and hopefully is being addressed. A solid start to the season and good result for us yesterday. Chris COYI
