With defensive signings now a priority, Allardyce is stepping up in his pursuit to sign FC Twente centre half Douglas for a fee in the region of £4.5m. Next on the list is a full back and Big Sam's first choice is Newcastle right back Danny Simpson, who may be available if the right offer comes in.

Meanwhile trialist Bilel Moshni seems to have earned himself a chance of a transfer, his versatility at being able to play at centre half and centre forward seems to have swayed Allardyce into making a swoop for the Southend Utd player. Other trialist Colin-Kazim Richards however, despite travelling to Germany with the first team squad, seems unlikely to seal a move.

Richars set up a goal got in loads of crosses and scored alow it was ruled off side where as moshni scored an own goal then scored then made a mistake that let the score again, so who would u prefer by the way. Richards would be on a season loan with the option of a permanent contract !

I hope your right bout Douglas I think this would b a massive signing for us he looks like he has everything to be a very good defender in the prem

How many goalkeepers does one team need. And whilst we are on the subject of
goal keepers its nice to see Rob Green
back to his old antics with another blunder

I think West ham need to focus on crucial areas that they need to strengthen before
its to late and stop buying goalkeepers

Defence is an absolute must and if they
think they can survive in the premier
league with Cole, Maynard, Maiga and
Vaz Te they are dreaming

4 keepers out (Green, Boffin, Stech and Kurucz) and three in so hardly over the top is it?

It will take more than 3 keepers to make up rob green should of never let him go he saved us atleast 12 points last season and I don't care what anyone has to say bout him I feel he's just as good as Joe hart if not better they've both cocked up a few times jus unfortunate greens was in the world cup but he's still a top class keeper and irraplaceble instead why buy a keeper which is ready for a retirement home and 2 kids .. We better sign some top defenders to help the poor old boy out

Yes, Rob Green is a good goalkeeper. Always said it and always will. But no, he is not as good as joe hart. Joe is jus ton another level. Sorry to upset you, but it's true. Rob Green is a good Prem goalie, but not as good as hart. I completley agree that we shouldn't have let green go, but hey, if he wants more money and we only want to/can offer a certain amount and he wants more... what can the club do!? West ham have a good selection of GKs this season. Jussi is experienced and will aid in the growth of Henderson who is a great prospect! And I completley agree, west ham had 4 goalkeepers leave and had three in. so i dont see an issue. and only 2 of them will take up the 25 man squad as spiegel is 19/20.

I would ent even mind seeing another under age keeper come in
