As we all know, Sam Allardyce loves a stat or ten, so here's one for him!

The Opta figures for last week's match against Spurs showed Carlton Cole record -29 (yes that's MINUS 29) to be named the team's worst player.

Now, presumably in anybody's world, that's a dropping situation particularly Allardyce's where stats take on the kind of importance given to Holy books to people of faith!

The problem apparently we are told is that neither Diafra Sakho or Enner Valencia are fully fit and may not be available for a full 90 minutes (rubbish).

One thought on that. even if either are operating at let's say 70 per cent it would be hard for them to produce worse figures than Carlton.

Don't get me wrong I believe CC has been a great servant down the years but I think those stats tell us all what we need to know.

For stats-loving Sam they surely mean even more and MUST shape his team selection for tomorrow. SURELY!

Sakho has to be fit because he was going to start for Metz!!!

There is definitely ulterior motives to Sams tactics, it wouldn't surprise me if he's trying to get the sack slowly but surely so he gets a nice few million to sod off and retire
