ssn are reporting how Zarate will arrive in England later this week and has
received interest from other clubs both in the Premier League.

His brother also reported in 2011 that Arsenal were due to sign him and that never materialised.

Take this rumour with a pinch of salt

Its laughable to think that because Sullivan tells the football world that he has demanded a more attacking attractive style of football, that all these big names will now want to come to West Ham. He treats the fans like persons, nothing will change

A leopard can;t change its spots no matter what and that's already been emphasised (and no, I'm not jumping on the get allardyce out band wagon).

After confirming he will be staying on he has already identified and is hoping to get Martin Olsson and Joleon Lescott.

No surprise to learn they are both defenders!

What bothers me is that defence was our Strength last year and its quite clear that Attack has to be our priority.

Yes I know, our full backs leave a lot to be desired and do need replacing, but forwards have to be our top priority. And I don;t mean with players like Victor Obinna (cheap and cheerful)

Dig deep and pay out some decent money for a decent striker (Oh, I forgot. we did that last year with AC and look where that got us - 2 goals all season)

Goals win games. Its pointless keeping a clean sheet if you can't pose a threat and score at the other end

Tony Pulis. changed his spots. Just saying

Good point well made

Great post, time will tell whether or not he can change to play the type of football we all want to see.

No disputing Allardyce does well with his defences, we now need pace and creativity with our midfield and forward line.

Zarate would be a great start if we can get him. He loves to take players on, great at free kicks (which we a dire at) and has one hell of a shot on him. Very tevez esq

Victor obinna would be good behind carroll or running on

Nathan Redmond looks like a solid investment! He had a good end to the season and scored a hatrick against Wales in the U21's game recently. Got to show some interest in him surely? Ed, any news on any clubs that are interested?

If we have really agreed a deal for Zarate it could be a great move or a terrible move. He has quite a temper and ego. Loves holding on to the ball and taking players on (which is what we are missing, but he don;t know when to pass). Will this factor get up the nose of BFS and he will end up not playing him.

Could be exactly what we need to force Sam out.

He's a very Tevezesq player. Short, stocky and powerful with a great shot on him and he is real good at free kicks in and around the area (something else we terribly need a la Baines and he destroyed us).

He's real fast so a pacey striker to keep up with him is neeeded

Mauro Zarate deal almost done, 27 years old, top scorer in the Argentine top league, lots of experience in Europe and had a spell of 6 months in the prem a little while back, could be worse!

Really, Mauro Zarate? Here we go again. Sam won;t play him

Jordan Rhodes

The Blackburn hitman has to be a Premier League player soon as his stock is rising by the season. Another 25 goals in this campaign for an indifferent Rovers side follows 29 last year and 40 the season before and 53 the season before - in fact Rhodes has not scored fewer than 20 goals in a season since he was 18 years old on loan at Brentford. Now 24, the Scotland international is yet to sign a new deal at Ewood Park meaning that Rovers may have to accept a bid of less than their £10million asking price, or lose him for nothing when his contract expires. A formidable striker who has every attribute to make it in the Premier League and one that Hammers fans would love to see at Upton Park.

So we are going to play a different way then I suggest we get strikers first and foremost.

STraight away we got to be looking at Jordan Rhodes and Ross McCormack. 50 goals between them last season and if we had them it may make space for Carroll and Nolan

RM already stated he doesn't want to leave leeds, we don't need to sell so he ain't going anywhere
