with the injuries we have I'm happy with the 3 points today looked pretty solid at the back, valencia offers nothing, didn't think tore was great but he was much better than on Thursday and againest chelsea.

Still a little sloppy and slow at times. Full backs did a lot better as did tore. Valencia should never lace another pair of boots up he was useless and offers nothing but the floor when he falls over. Sell him, get bony and alternate bony and calleri who I thought did OK today.

Not the best of games but we battled well. both full backs were good, tore was hot and cold, his set pieces were awful but the cross for the goal was superb. I feel the way Valencia trudged off the pitch showed that he realises his time with us is over. Noble ran his heart out, thought kouyate was good, Adrian saved us at the end, I liked Fletcher and Callieri they looked lively. At last Antonio on the wing and saves the day.

With so much of the first team out, it was always going to be a difficult game, I thought both fullbacks played extremely well, Masuaku in particular looks the real deal and should bring pressure in the LB position once Cres is back, he can now recover properly without being rushed, I also liked the look of Nordtveit, very solid and vast improvement over Song IMO, Tore is improving with every game. COYI.

I agree with all of the above - Byram and Arthur have done well yesterday. I really like Arthur, I think he can be a great player for us.
I was actually quite impressed with Fletcher and Calleri when they came on. It's a shame Calleri missed the chance at the end - would have been great boost for him on the premier league and home debut. I showed great composure though despite the miss. Some of his distribution was excellent too.
At the end of the day - we got the points. Really important game - well done the lads.

Going after players all summer who didn't want to come to us and we're out of our reach, buying a winger as our marquee 20 goal a season striker and after 1 game getting injured for 4 months. Showing our hand publicly regarding want we are willing to spend on a striker ( the Tevez saga ), promising that the stadium will be finished for the start of the season. not having the digital wrap installed, Statues brought over, threatening fans who stand up at games, the mis spelt Dimitri Payet sign, the shirt RAP, not having a stadium name in place for the start of the season, Upton Park seats delivered to fans with bird rubbish on them, not having an option to buy on Calleri, Antonio at right back. Oxford stalling on new contract, Oh yeah, and now Carroll's out for 6 weeks. There's a surprise. I was buzzing at the end of last season but this summer's been a bit of a joke! Go get an experienced right back a midfielder if Obiang wants out and Bony or Zaza to help us out up front. The owners/ Brady keep preaching about us being a top club and pushing for Champions League spots. Never mind the players on the pitch and the Athletics stadium that we were given, first things first we better start ACTING like a top club!

I'll give him his dues Young Byram is looking better every game he plays. If he gets injured though were need Nordveit to fill in. Tore is off the pace, Ogbonna and Fegouli to come back in and missing Payet and Lanzini's creativity. Desperately need someone like Bony up front. Hopefully with a fresh start he can recreate he's Swansea days. MIKE do you know what the situation is with Obiang? If he goes will we be looking for a replacement?

Never has a season been so looked forward too and now it's gone so flat so quickly! How has Valencia and norveldt got in the team! I'd rather have fletcher and obiang in team and where are these injuries coming from? Payet came on against chelski didn't look that injured Carroll came on in Romania so what on earth is going on? Only a guess but things don't seem to good in dressing room? So frustrating and depressing and only played one game! Let's hope we can sneak a 1-0 win today but I doubt it!

Totally agreed. Something is not right and why on earth is valencia and nordvedt playing ahead of Fletcher and obiang. Hope we squeak a 1-0 but going to be a long afternoon.

the formation is negative from the start we should playing 2 up top not a defensive midfielder at home, that line up looks like we are playing for a draw.

byram is better than janmaat who Is ok going forward but terrible defensivly , we've already signed loads this summer an our first choice team is no better than it was last year.

Don't bank on it!
Think it is a huge blow losing him, he is immense defending corners, free kicks etc it is usually his head that clears the danger.
People just seem to over look that side of his game and just judge him on his goals or lack of.
