I've just seen that Newcastle want Andy Carroll back. and they are prepared to pay the 15 mil we paid for him. Now I know a lot of people have their own views on him and that he is a "class player", but scoring just 2 goals last season is just ridiculous for a player on around 100k a week. I'd be more than happy to let him go for that. We have Valencia and Zarate now. Invest the funds from Downing and Carroll in to konoplyanka and a new forward, make the defence more solid. e.g a RB, CB and a new GK and maybe a new midfield and then I think we have a really good team. I'm sure I will get some dislikes and people throwing a hissy fit I am even open to the idea of selling AC, but I'm sure we could find a cheaper alternative who scores more than 2 goals a season. Even I would score more than 2!

Dave there is nothing wrong with a/c he is asked to play with his back to goal to win knockdown/freekicks.
if the wingers get forward and put in decent crosses he will put them in the back of the net.
we were set up far to defensively last season only once did we come from behind and win against the saints we really failed to support him when we sit so deep. watch james collins everytime he gets the ball he looks upfield for andy and launches 2 andy 2 if not 3 players are on him he wins the header but no support for the knock down

There are a lot of teams that play defensively, the strikers still manage to score more than 2 goals and on a much lesser wage. Its people like you that think a player on 100k a week who scores 2 goals a season is good. what's wrong with you. Jeez. even Carlton scored more. You can't blame it on the way we play. we are not the only team in the world to play like that.

And if we are just using carroll for knockdowns. Then may I suggest peter crouch if that's all you think AC's job is. Would be a lot cheaper
