Well - that was painful to watch. But look on the brigthside - we are mirroring last year's performances in Europe so does that mean it's going to be just as successful a season? Course it does.

Well - West Ham never make it easy and that's why we love them eh?

Very worrying, two very very poor performances. No fight, no drive, no movement, ball played backwards all the time. Can't think of one player who performed tonight.

19 Aug 2016 08:28:23
Tore is the Turkish equivalent of Matt jarvis.

19 Aug 2016 09:25:56
i agree with you Rowe. Tore has looked incredibly poor and off the pace. But there were very (emphasis on the very) occasional moments we he looked fairly dangerous. He beat a couple of guys round the back and floated a couple of nice balls in. If AC had been on the end of it we would all be laughing.

But I do agree - he is pretty poor.

Is it me or anyone else think bilic don't look to happy?

18 Aug 2016 19:54:43
Yeah he's just realised tore is ****.

18 Aug 2016 21:09:21
tore is the new dale Gordon fellas all step overs and jinks and no end product

on a more serious note we need a new fitness coach we looked knackered by half time.

18 Aug 2016 21:59:29
Agree he didn't look at all happy, but would you if you had to witness that performance live?
At least we could get a break from the dross by making a cuppa and visiting the loo!

West Ham are maintaining a watching brief on developments with City striker Wilfried Bony and Liverpool's Christian Benteke as they contemplate ways to solve their growing injury list.

Andre Ayew is out for four months and Slaven Bilic would like to add a forward on loan though both selling clubs would prefer permanent sales, Bony is the more likely option if wage issues can be resolved! Other clubs such as Crystal Palace and Besiktas have been showing an interest in BONY and are also watching this situation closely, apparently.

I personally would suggest that if we want him we go get him but we will probably, mull, ponder show an interest etc and it'll come to nothing, false hopes.

Well one league game down to a very average looking Chelsea, the disaster that was on the cards at RB being a major factor. The subsequent substitution should have happened earlier with Antonio moving up to replace Ayew. Nordveit should not have been selected ahead of Obiang who is fairly consistent but we need to get rid of him to buy another winger. Valencia shop window yeh poundshop. Maduaku looks good so we obviously need to buy anther LB.
It is very easy from the armchair or stand but there will be 57000 there Sunday and millions on TV, SB is on trial and could be top of the sack list by next Friday. Good job we (dgs) are in the black with a guaranteed profit for 16/ 17 thru season tickets. Too early to panic?

18 Aug 2016 11:08:17
AGREED. Dump Nordvedt and play Obiang. Bring Byram in and stick with him so he can learn and play Antonio where Ayew was and stop taking the P_SS out of the fans by messing about playing players out of position. Fans are starting to get a little angry with the way we are conducting ourselves and quite rightly so.

Sort the bloody squad out and start filling positions we need filling and stop buying wingers and offload crap for any value.

Morning Chaps

I had a good old rant on here last night after reading Mike post concerning Antonio, I really just don't get the logic behind SB thinking I really dont, he is trying to put Antonio as a RB, the fans, media, my dogs cousin, hoppy my rabbit and even Roy Hodgson knows he is not a RB, He was superb last season, my personal hammer of the year.

Thinking of it logically my only conclusion is SB wants him out, what other reason does he keep playing him at RB, OK if this is temporary until they sign a RB maybe fair enough, but it seems to me this is not a priority,

Antonio is unhappy, the fans are unhappy, If Antonio does leave than we will have to buy a RB anyway, so why not just buy a RB and have Antonio and Tore attacking on the right, and if worse case injures maybe Antonio can cover its not rocket science,

I read from a post Tore is SB love child, that may be the case, but of course there is room for both players its a squad not a staring 11 throughout the season.

I may be missing things but why has it taken so long to identify and sign a RB, we have Byram who may or may not be ready but we need cover, an Orthodox RB is needed, I just can't get my head round this that it seems very little effort is being made, as said if Antonio does walk we have to buy one anyway, its absolutely crazy.

My personal opinion on this is that SB, favours having attacking football which is fine, but surely a solid defence including natural solid backs is the base of all teams, if you don't concede you can't lose, not we can concede 2 goals and try get away with our attacking players getting 3 goals.

Mike what's your opinion on this, are they actively looking for a RB?

i'm so frustrated that everyone can see what we need expect SB, hence my logic of forcing Antonio out by playing him RB until he hands in a transfer request to leave, is that the only way SB will buy a RB, is this personal between Bilic and Antonio? .

Sorry i'm rambling now but i'm still furious of the lack of acknowledgement and urgency in this position.

18 Aug 2016 10:25:10
Warrington I don't believe there is room for both as we have feghouli this just signed aswell so I'm not sure how antonio fits in with that.

18 Aug 2016 11:18:50
I reckon that he is trying to force Antonio out for a profit and he can then use that money for RB cause we have NO MONEY left! Its a joke and even BETWAY commented so. Its such a shame cause we were actually heading in the right direction. OK, we've had a few unfortunate injuries but our summer business has been quite poor realistically with us buying players for positions which are not priority. Full Back situation should have been addressed just as urgently as striker and therefore addressed accordingly instead of trying to force a square peg in a round hole. I firmly believe that if this continues, players will also become unhappy and results will reflect it. Irons fans have been talking about RB Need for weeks and nothing was done. Why should they, season tickets are sold! And after all, what de we know? I genuinely believe that they don't actually know what the priorities are and are trying to find as MANY BARGAIN PLAYERS as possible. Just look at the summer dealings with loan deals and freebies? Am not going into the financials but something is NOT RIGHT! DGS have stated they believe Calleri will score goals for us regularly! He better or we are in trouble.

18 Aug 2016 11:32:20
It's a squad Red players get injured, rested, if he could keep everyone happy which with amount of games we play I think he can than surely makes squad strong in depth, it's the Full back arras that is getting on my nerves.

18 Aug 2016 12:24:49
yes but we don't need 3 players in that position the money was spent on tore on the proviso that antonio play rb if not we would have just signed a right back instead of tore.

18 Aug 2016 13:20:22
The whole world and his goldfish knows that we have needed at LEAST one full back and all we tried to do was patch it (Probably to save funds) by playing Antonio at RB.

18 Aug 2016 08:22:08
With Ayew out for a while, what are our genuine striking options? Mike, any thoughts?

18 Aug 2016 09:54:14
One word Nessy, Fletcher, I been banging on about giving this lad a chance, and now due to unforeseen circumstances this may happen, he will get goals and possible save us another 20m euros, but of course we will pay silly money to someone and still not by a RB.

18 Aug 2016 14:10:48
Spot on Warrington fletcher should be given a run I think this kid could be something! Also obiang should be in team instead of norveldt tore doesn't excite me at all and still can't get my head round how we spent 20 million on ayew so quickly no haggling yet all the other strikers we were linked with we kept putting in lower bids seems to me it was done deliberately and I also said this weeks ago that all this talk about signing a big marquee player was a season ticket seller looks like it now might be true get the feeling this season is going to be a struggle!

18 Aug 2016 08:14:00
Ayew out till Christmas. Payet picks up slight knock in training. Antonio storms of the training pitch. Valencia is useless. Nordtvedt isn't much better. Tore is overweight and nowhere near fit. Feghouli is injured. Typical calamity organisation and of course still no FULL BACKS!

18 Aug 2016 09:58:50
Hi Phil, I just rambled on in a new post concerning Antonio and especially a RB, in my eyes a RB is so needed more than striker at the moment. SB is getting on my nerves, a personal with Sakho so I hear and now it seems Antonio, and to be fair to the lad comes across as a level headed person who just wants to play, I hope SB is not losing things,

18 Aug 2016 11:39:53
If SLaven is losing the dressing room then he needs to be replaced and we got to find somebody else. Nobody is bigger than the team and that includes SB. Don't get me wrong, I like SB but if things are starting to go pear shaped we can't juts keep selling players cause they won't play out of position and throw tantrums (so would I to be honest if I was a goalscorer asked to play in defence)
