i think kouyate is an absolute beast an not getting as much credit as should dominated the midfield last night would have given him man of match of he wernt for payet he looks quality can't see him being at West Ham come next season

I think the way we are going the big boys will come calling either in January or in the summer. I cna see Chelsea offloading Willian, Mikel and Febregas and making a BIG play for PAYET and we already know that SPURS like Kouyate!!!
I would hope that we wouldn;t succumb but if we get a bid of daft money would we be able to resist

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has no interest in Payet - and won't have in the summer.}

No top players will be sold, unless a ridiculous offer comes in In kouyates case it would take 20plus m , wh cannot afford to let anyone go on the cheap OTHER than those that have already been discussed, dgs will still need to ADD at least 5/6 players at seasons end to complete the two teams scenario, , allowing for those that are departing then IRONMIKE

West Ham will not let big players leave unless its ridiculously overpriced, what's wrong with everyone as soon as we start playing well all the players are going to leave? Do me a favour and enjoy the season

15 Sep 2015 18:35:12
Fully agree Steveniron, let's just enjoy the great exciting football we are watching and worry about players leaving if and when it happens.
Lets hope we can nick a point or 3 at the Etihad.

Dgs are business men and have show us the intent they have for the club they want to go into the new stadium with a great last season at the Boleyn and hopefully a even better first in the os, there is no way any of our players will be going anywhere even if silly bids come in and I don't think sb would have it, he has clearly got a plan for the long term and I for one am excited and from last nights performance he's plan is falling in to place ,he will build a squad not dismantle it buy letting our players go,whoever comes sniffing around. I for one think this is the start of a very good chapter in West Ham history COYI

Steveiron. you are spot on mate. During the transfer window I saw an immense amount of criticism launched against DGS by a few fans for not investing in players. We made some great signings in my opinion ( probably the best I have ever seen since I was old enough to follow the transfer sagas.)
Now we have the signings, we are grumbling about the possibility of selling them. Poor old DGS, damned if they do and damned if they don't.
And will we really be the only team who sells their best players when a fabulous offer comes in? No!

I'm with you Steveiron. enjoy them while we have them like we should do.

Some of the posts I have read on this site over the past 4 weeks have demonstrated how fickle and negative fans can be.
In the main though this site is frequented by great West Ham fans who show appreciation.

Hii fellas, loved it, pace is one of the essential things we have been without, but now!as I previously stated wh are letting opposition come on to them now, so we may have less possession, buts it's goals that count After all. Problem now is Carroll great as an alternative sub, but he doesn't have the pace to play counter attack but it provides another alternative, we may see Antonio this weekend, at city we may need to play three not two at. Cb,, BUT I think city will change their formation so as not to get caught out at the back, looking forward to it, IRONMIKE

I do like Andy Carroll but at the moment and defiantly after sakhos performance last night I think it will be hard for him to get a start. Sakho was brilliant last night he's movement was excellent and oh my god he's hold up play was out of this world. I think the team now know how good they can be and the all had a swag about them last night COYI

We were ace last night although I did think that we were inviting them onto us a bit. However, most of their shots were from outside the box, so we were defending well.
I'm a little worried about Saturday to be honest as I always feel we can never replicate form on a weekly basis. Also Man City are a different proposition to Newcastle and we're away. Truthfully, I would be thrilled with a point at City.

15 Sep 2015 15:16:11
SB will probably play five across the back, anyway with two in front of them, City away is one of the hardest fixtures on the list, so it's a real test, but we go in with good heart, so hope for the best! IRONMIKE

COYI64 I think you don't realise that the players we have signed, especially the pace in moses and antonio, has set us up for some fast paced quality counter attacking football. To be able to play this counter attacking style we NEED the other team to come at us and attack, and then we rinse them when they have over committed. I think SB has done brilliantly.Newcastle only has one real chance, I thought are back 4 were very solid and never really looked worried.

I have to say that it will have done Jenks a lot of good to have played last game and got a clean sheet. Bring on city.

whufc66.I agree with your post whufc66 and see the pace in the team now. It was an awesome display against NUFC.
Really all I was trying to suggest is that we need to be a little smarter against City than we were against NUFC.
We defended well against NUFC but they never really showed the creativity to open up our back line and I think Man City may have that craft.
However, Ironmike made a good point about SB playing with 3 CB against City. Depending on whether or not Ogbonna is going to be fit after going off on Monday night, I would imagine this would be Collins, Tomkins and Reid.
My concern would be Jenkinson at right back. Hopefully eh learned his lesson against Bournemouth and shapes up for this game.
A positive will be, Mangala at ther back for City looks a bit fragile and could be exploited. Hopefully, Kompany still has issues with his calf on Saturday and doesn't play either. This would leave them with DeMichellis with Mangala.
With our pace , I believe we could get through these two.
Still, we are all realists. let's pray for a win but expect a draw.

17 Sep 2015 14:27:04
This is our biggest test away so far I'd take a draw now I think they are the best squad of players by far in the league so let's not expect to much I'd drop noble for obiang if fit he's got a ankle knock but should be ok noble gives the ball away in to many dangerous areas and Antonio for lanzini for the counter attack bit more pace COYI

15 Sep 2015 09:22:41
Was at the game last night and got to admit we look dangerous on the break and if we keep playing like that we're going to frighten some teams. Man City at the weekend best not be complacent or I can see us getting something from the game. Anybody got any news on Ogbonna cause I really like Tonks at RB instead of Jenks

16 Sep 2015 08:37:39
I agree Phil1016. I prefers Tonks at RB over Jenkinson too.
At least Tonks puts in his tackles and works hard.
For me Jenks has a lot to prove after his game against Bournemouth to convince me he is worth taking a chance on.

What's the chances Chelsea and City try in January to snatch Payet.

15 Sep 2015 10:11:48
NOT going to happen, unless a ridiculous bid comes in circa 35m, wh have GOT to get to the stadium in good shape. Selling main players IS NOT the way forward. And CERTAINLY NOT in January! IRONMIKE

16 Sep 2015 08:25:31
If Liverpool can demand a £45 Mill fee for Stirling, then so can we. My opinion is that Payet is a far better player than Stirling.
Anybody disagree with this?
