I feel it would be moronic to try and retain Payet if his head is turned and we are offered in excess of £60m. You could build one hell of a squad with that sort of money.

LOL billyhammer I suspect you have been a hammers fan for a while. try and get out of this selling club mind set. if we are to compete with the top clubs you don't sell your best player at any cost unless you have to and GandS have said their is no need to. The squad is as strong as it has been for years and does not need a massive overhaul.

I think payets performace yesterday has highlighted to the rest of the world what west ham fans already knew that in payet we have one of the best players in the world at our club. There will be some silly bids coming in but we must keep hold of him at all costs.

If payet continues in this vain we going to have problems keeping him even at £60m. Juventus could sell pogba for £78m then offer us Zaha, pereya and say £35m. What would we do then? Hope he plays poorly next game but can't see it damn.

I don't think we'd sell him under any circumstances he is our main man he will thrive in our new home, we have money to spend on new players and trying to build for the future, it would make no sense to let him go regardless of what's offered, who would we replace him with we are struggling to sign top class strikers the Davies pulled a master stroke improving his contract for 4 years I just pray that there are no buy out clauses in it,

I have to disagree with you on this one concerning Payet, brilliant player but i'm not sure if its feasible to turn down £60m for a 29 year old. I would be agreeing with you both if he was 25 but his 30 next March, I just can't see that money being turned down, yes I agree we should not be seen as a selling club and of course we need to show we are moving forward but £60m is a lot of money not to consider.

hiya Warrington normally I'd agree but the problem for me is 1st of all we can't get anyone as good payet is world class, I know with that money we could get 3 very good players but none will be as good as payet look at the problems we are having persuading players already even though we have the money
2nd payet is good enough to get us higher up the league which means more prize money prestige etc
3rd I would think if he carry on like this for rest of tournemant players will want to come to he OS to be in same team as him
4th we aren't struggling for money anyway as at he moment we can't spend it!
5th not actually sure anyone would pay 60 million for a 29 year old anyway
