Newcastle fan in peace! Just wanna say well done on great season so far! As a die hard toon fan I'm tearing my hair out at pardews tactical decisions and team selections this season! I seem to remember him doin well at west ham for a season then the following season I think he took you down. Was just wondering if you think pardew was to blame for a terrible 2nd season? {Ed039's Note - He doesnt have a great track record when it comes to consistency, this is why it baffled me when he signed an 8 year contract, at any club this is outrageous but for an EPL team, it is bordering on lunacy)
To be honest I reckon the 8 year contract was just publicity for the club and having seen how Mike Ashley conducts business I guarantee if he sacks pardew there will be all sorts of clauses to make sure pards gets next to nowt off the club. Would be good to know if anyone noticed pards makin strange decisions durin his 2nd season at ur place {Ed039's Note - My understanding through what I have read is that either party can cancel the agreement at a years notice, much like a rolling contract. But its not just Pardew that has these agreements, most of his coaching staff have them too)
Yep like I said the long contracts were all for publicity and aren't worth the paper theyre written on! If mike ashley wants rid, those 8 year deals will mean nothing. Anyway good luck for rest of season and if anyone can shed any light on my original topic (pardew losing his marbles in 2nd season) would be much appreciated!

It seems to be the trend with pardew with most of the clubs he goes too starts well and then tails off, was not sorry to see him leave the hammers because he did not look like turning it round at the time.although rumour has it he did not get the sack for the football reasons but for some off the field indiscretions with one of the players wives "ONLY RUMOUR MIND"

Y y would we r thinking of getting rid of Tomkins when only 23 and a future England captain great reliable defender he will also get better with age and the humour that where after Disdain Silvan at 32 yrs only got max 2-3yrs left keep Tomkins at all costs .Keep our players . Ausie John
At this stage putting it down to crappy paper was only in one paper reid/tomkins are the future unless he has asked for a move
Tompkins along with Reid were emense last year and If Sam had given Tompkins a much longer run this year I'm pretty convinced the centre back pairing would have been Ok let's face it he isn't a midfield player is he. Collins is really dedicated but liable to slip ups ala Swansea etc. I seem to rmemebr a certain centre back called Rio Ferdinand being let go at an early age and look what happenened their.
