West Ham have been offered Ox by Arsenal.

billyhammer

1.) 20 May 2016 10:27:15
I think he would be a decent signing.

2.) 20 May 2016 12:51:29
Too many injuries, great player and I think he would thrive at westham, but we are constantly being linked with injury prone players.

Is there any truth in the rumour (quickly gathering pace today), that the Olympic Park is set to be renamed the Samsung Stadium when West Ham take occupancy next season?

billyhammer

1.) 19 Apr 2016 08:56:44
umbro was talked about last week for £100,000,000.

2.) 19 Apr 2016 09:40:35
Silly question, as we're just renting, do we actually have the ability to rename the stadium? It's not ours and even if the deal happened, would the money go to the government anyway to make up for the cheap deal we're getting?

3.) 19 Apr 2016 10:34:21
As I understand it the first 4 million of any naming rights will go to the LLC and we keep the rest.

4.) 19 Apr 2016 12:34:53
wow, that's going to annoying the "UK taxpayer" even more then if that is the case. oh well, never mind :D.

5.) 19 Apr 2016 13:01:34
A correction to my earlier post - The Guardian reports.

"West Ham keep all their ticket revenue while other income streams are shared. Over the first two decades of the stadium’s life, the LLDC will pocket the first £4m of any naming rights deal on the iconic stadium and share anything over that 50-50 with West Ham. "

6.) 19 Apr 2016 14:10:51
still could give us 48 million in the bank!

7.) 19 Apr 2016 14:50:52
Nice. Wasnt it a stipulation that the word 'olympic' had to be involved in the naming of the stadium as well. So for example it would be the Samsung Olympic stadium.

8.) 19 Apr 2016 23:58:31
I read the deal will be about 6 mill a year which means we pocket only about 1 mill each year. Not bad, but not the mega numbers people are thinking about.

Absolute bloody travesty yesterday. Noble, rash tackling, poor judgement, and lack of any crucial balls. Sooner Song returns to full fitness, the better. Jenkinson is a shadow of his former self this season, I am now glad that we opted to loan again. Moses offers nothing but pace, which was useless against a quick Spurs fullback. Carroll is a complete liability. Embarrassed to call him a West Ham player. Zarate needs his chances, and Sakho needs to be playing in the position where he has proven time and again he is effective.
Lanzini was a rare gem yesterday, good running, good movement, and a lovely finish at the end.

For me, it's
Adrian
Cresswell Ogbonna Reid Jenkinson
Song Kouyate
Antonio Moses
Payet
Sakho

For me, Carroll doesn't merit a start. I'd use him as an impact sub rather than rush him back from injury and start playing long balls again!

billyhammer

1.) 02 Sep 2015 16:51:10
I would play obiang

2.) 02 Sep 2015 17:13:33
Instead of song?

It seems to me that there is an air of general negativity floating around on here.
I for one can't really understand where it has come from. We've had a great first game, all signs point to Bilic being a good fit as a manager (for now at least).
I'm sure if you all get behind the team, and trust in DGS and SB to make the right decisions for the club you'll have a much more enjoyable tenure as fans!

1.) 11 Aug 2015 11:43:42
NO, billy no negativity fro me anyway, most fans want to see younger players signed to give wh an exciting future, and at first glance a possible signing of joey Barton for example, seem to be as a step going backwards, wh have in the past signed a plethora of has beens, the fans want the club moving forwards , that's all, so they have a groan, normal supporters behaviour. I would say, IRONMIKE

2.) 11 Aug 2015 13:26:32
Agree 100% ironmike

3.) 11 Aug 2015 15:08:56
What Mike said.

4.) 11 Aug 2015 20:36:44
I'm with them. We know we have a great first 11 but not the finished squad that will see us past Xmas
It's all about opinions anyway. I would be happy with Nolan in the squad this year but Bob wants him in a taxi out of the east end.

07 Aug 2015 08:53:46
I really do think that our somewhat early expulsion from the Europa League is for the best. We simply don't have the squad depth to maintain a Premier League position and compete in Europe at the moment. If we're not there to compete, I see it as fairly pointless, the youngsters can get a run-out in the League Cup etc.
Going forward to next weekend, I would like to see our squad as:
Adrian
Jenkinson Ogbonna Reid Cresswell
Obiang Kouyate
Lanzini Payet Zarate
Sakho

Which is a considerably better squad than last year by anyone's standards!

billyhammer

1.) 07 Aug 2015 13:04:11
Ogbonna better then Tomkins?
Obiang better then song?
Lanzini better then downing?

Not sure I agree that looks better then last season at all

2.) 07 Aug 2015 13:57:33
That's not a squad, that's a team.we are threadbare and unless some quality numbers come in.we are in serious trouble (and a laughing stock as well, which is nice!!)

3.) 07 Aug 2015 16:07:07
I agree bob I'm also a bit worried these new signings will need time to adjust to the prem as well

£10-15m for Mark Noble?! Maybe we'll get £10m for Collins and sign Marlon Harewood whilst we're at it haha.

Personally, I believe this could be Oxford's breakthrough season. He's a far better option than Collins in my eyes, and let us not forget how deep inside his pocket Ozil was last season!

Probably the final nail in the Obiang coffin.

I'm backing Bony to be exceptional for West Ham if he signs. Whilst his appearances to goals ratio isn't spectacular, he has still scored 10 in 20 starts for City. Given a good run in the team, week after week, I think you probably have your answer.

A 29 year old with chocolate ankles and a history of disciplinary problems isn't the route we want to be going down in my eyes.

In my eyes, if you got to support your team and bring the game into disrepute by fighting, then essentially you are not a fan.
Why would any supporter of a club want to have sanctions placed on their own fans?!
It's not hard to sit down and f*****g behave for 90 minutes, is it.

Pack it in Phil.
Would you prefer this, or the days of Boa Morte and Dyer?
Success does not happen overnight.

I feel it would be moronic to try and retain Payet if his head is turned and we are offered in excess of £60m. You could build one hell of a squad with that sort of money.

Ed002 can we stop the negativity please? Constructive criticism would be much more appreciated then cynicism. Bound to put people off posting isn't it.

billyhammer

{Ed002's Note - Sure, WHU do approach the 20 or so players mentioned to you every day. They will be buying players like Jonas because he is cheap - ignoring the fact that the club has zero interest in him, ignoring the fact that he won't improve the team. Maybe the club is as stupid as some of their fans. This is one of the reasons I try not to tell you too much about what is happening - it is a complete waste of my time.}
