linked to dragovic for 15million. was linnked to man utd amongst others a few seasons ago and is a quality player. leicester have first refusal tho they just signed evans so maybe don't need another centre half. far better value for money than dawson imo who is solid but expensive at 12+million.

We was linked with him after the euros so might just be lazy journalism but who knows. I’m personally not a fan. He’s not an upgrade on Rice. We have diop, Reid and Ogbonna too. I would love to see us get a few points on the board and play young players like oxford and use this as a year to build a good young team. Think the money could be better spent elsewhere strengthening the midfield with a few good young players like Wilshere, Andersen, seri.

West ham make it difficult with every transfer bartering over a price which they set and value unfortunately it doesn't work like that he's Lazios player and they are in charge and can ask what they want and I don't think they've moved on price and the quicker Sullivan gets it the better and quicker transfers will be made.

Nuts86. All teams barter unless you are a Man City who have deep pockets. Let’s be fair here, if we didn’t even try to sign some players, the board would be criticised for lack of ambition. The fact that we have increased our bid for Anderson with bonuses should hopefully do it. They want €50m I believe and we have offered £40m plus bonuses which is close and with the player chomping at the hit to join us this should be enough. Remember, whatever money we can save (even if only a couple of million can be used to sign other players.

Hammer time. I agree with your post apart from stating that we have Reid and that Dragovic wouldn’t be an upgrade on him. Two years ago I would have agreed but Reid has no legs and can not stay on his feet on the field of play and is always injured.
With Rice prone to the occasional mistake and Ogbonna up and down in terms of form, I wouldn’t be opposed to Dragovic coming in as at least cover.

Don’t think anyone said he wouldn’t be an upgrade on Reid, even though on his day he is still our best CB. Just not going to do it for 38 games a year.
It’s just that 15mil is a lot of money for a club like us to spend when we should be looking to strengthen elsewhere first. If we have money left over then another CB late on in the window would be great but think we’re okay there currently following the addition of Diop.

Hi coyi64 you said let's be fair in your post and that's exactly what west ham haven't been and nor have Lazio to a degree but they are in the front seat and currently we are at the depot I'm not trying to be argumentative mate and I get what your saying but it gets a bit repatative with our dealings of bigger transfers we seem to get cold feet anything over £25 million.

Hi Mike has bernard ruled out a move to us and is going to get a big payday in China if so he's too young at 25 for that surely normally players at the wrong end of 30 or more go to China or America.

Saw today we are linked to ryan shawcross. any truth to this IRONMIKE? i think he would be a quality signing and bring a lot of leadership and steel we are missing at the back. also seeing that jonny evans is going to leicester for 3.5milllion? why were we not all over that, surely a quality ball playing centre half that wouldve been right up MP's street and kept the board more than happy for that price. any inside scoop ironmike?

please please please mike this isn't true about shawcross being targeted by us if so it's totally wrong the guy was a good player 3-4 years ago i know 1 player doesn't make a team but watch him many times and he's washed up all he does in the six yax box is wrestle who he's marking and refs are clamping down on it now but surely the likes of mawson zouma lescelles and another player not mentioned who's quality is jack stephen from southampton also dunk and the burnley c/ b whos name escapes me all of the named above are on a different level now to shawcrossi who a few years ago was decent we always seem to follow a great signing with a hopefully not a poor transfer i'm praying mike it's unfounded any news mike. coyi tarkoswki that's his name.

free agents from premier league clubs for next summer. david luiz, ramsay, hererra, mata, pereira would all do a good job. few others there too who are maybe a tad old for the direction we are looking to go in but not to be discounted (look at zaba) . valencia, monreal, giroud, young etc all on the list too. ifew injury prone names on the list too but we don't need another sick note! who would yous fancy?

For me mata is class had been for along time, and Ramsey we all know what he can do. So in my opinion definitely Ramsey, and I just love mata he is a work horse. As for Pereir I don’t know much about him to be honest. But those two for me.

we are doing deals at an accelerated pace that we haven't seen for manys a moon. keep them coming. only reservation i have about this is that if we do actually need to sell a few players to balance the book (news sources saying 30million needs raised) then other clubs may have us over a barrell knowing that we have done a lot of business and have to sell up. any thoughts on this? will we start to see a few exits.

whorya its often said that some foreign players can take time to settle into the premier league sure look at pires at arsenal or vidic and evra at united in recent years. or a bit closer to home under bilic the season he signed tore, callieri, emenike, and zaza when none got off the mark. i am not saying they are not going to turn out well for us because for every tore there will be a payet but it is risky putting all your faith in two players from exotic leagues at the heart of defense (especially with our track record of foreign unknowns and player injuries) . thought diop has looked shaky in preseason so far and yea balbeuna has looked solid to his credit, but would be nice to have a safety blanket of a few players with decent prem experience too especially if playing 3 at the back we will need numbers. ogbonna has his moments too so the more the merrier imo.

tbh both are improvements imo. i'd personally love to get zouma on the cheap for a season with a view to buy. we need defnders with prem league experience as diop and balbeuna are quite risky, don't care what anyone says. and zouma is a quality defender on his day too and has bags of potential - chelsea love seeling promising youngsters for them to come back to haunt them at a later date hahah.

he signed a one year extension with Nice but prior to that he was a free agent. ended up in a spot of bother in true balotelli form, because he skipped training as he was that certain of a move to marseille which didn't materialise and is now training alone. so may be available but not free.
{Ed002's Note - The contract was signed more than a year ago - he is training alone because there has been a bunch of grief - he is not moving to West Ham.}

think we should be going all out to get shakiri at this stage. price is a bargain and he has been quality so far at the world cup. why be held to ransom by lazio when there is a premier league proven player available for a fraction of the cost. he can become part of the MP revolution!
