Well was hoping Payet situation would be resolved but now it seems he has said he doesn't want to play for us. Sad indeed it has come to this but if it's true then we should cash in with a Euro club.

I have just read that on ssn, what a sad thing it has come to this.

If he does not want to play get rid as soon as possible, do not go down this route of hanging on to such a valuable player to make a point, if he does not want to play cash in and go a find a player that does and offer the right amount and don't start the bidding off with a £100 quid bid for a £20m player

Maybe an exchange for some decent players could be on the cards as Payet is still worth a bit

2.) 12 Jan 2017 11:06:41
Extremely sad one of the best players I have seen at west ham for many a year but in some respects I don't blame him for wanting a move he is at a stage in his career were he is probably thinking it is his last chance to win something. The board must take some of the blame for this everything was in place after last season for west ham to kick on and perhaps have a good European run and a good league position finish and maybe a cup but in true west ham fashion it is one step forward two backwards. The summer transfer debacle is mainly to blame for this, I wish him all the best and hope he wins the silverware he deserves as he is pure class at his best and there is no point in keeping him if he wants out as we won't see his best, move him on and just pray we spend the money wisely.

3.) 12 Jan 2017 17:44:08
absolutley bang on boleynboy he has been let down by the board like us fans with false promises and bull.

{Ed025's Note - im not buying that mike, payet has been one of the main reasons that things are so bad at west ham, he is a sulking overpaid excuse for a man who plays when he feels like it, hes an utter disgrace and bobby more will be turning in his grave that a player like payet can hold the club to ransom, dont sell him just let him rot in the reserves and play a youngster who wants to wear the shirt and will play with a bit of pride..

4.) 12 Jan 2017 20:36:11
Bobby moore played in a totally different era when there was loyalty from clubs and players alike. Football just is not like that anymore I would prefer to have a more objective view and just be grateful I saw him play, get as much as we can for him and wish him all the best, similar to when we had tevez you somehow knew it was going to be short lived. Saying that if he was ten years younger I might have a different point of view.

Mike sounds like Real have accepted a bid for Jesé from PSG, did WH underbid again?

AussieHammer

1.) 03 Aug 2016 07:56:32
That one's probably a choice made due to wages, quality of football, and chance of winning major trophies if we're honest with ourselves.

2.) 03 Aug 2016 09:16:19
never got why we were ever linked with jese we've got loads of attacking midfielders that's the one place we defiantly don't need anyone.

Reports Man City have made an official approach for Oxford, hope he doesn't go.

AussieHammer

1.) 20 Jul 2016 10:48:53
I hope so too. We have to keep young players like him.

Arsenal target Carlos Bacca has his heart set on joining a team with Champions League football next season, according to AC Milan manager.

2.) 20 Jul 2016 14:36:57
further to the above about Bacca! Apparently Atletico Madrid, PSG and Arsenal don't want Bacca and AC Milan really need to sell to raise funds for transfers!

If he suddenly decides "Aye, I would like to join that West Ham" would we still want a player who's heart may not be fully in it or, do we go with it anyway and hope that he comes around once he plays in front of our crowd A LA PAYET did.

3.) 20 Jul 2016 16:31:46
Yes 100% take him.

Any truth to the Batshuayi rumour in today's papers?

AussieHammer

1.) 23 Apr 2016 18:40:21
He is our number1 target.

2.) 23 Apr 2016 19:36:45
Not sure he is as they want well over odds for him.

3.) 23 Apr 2016 21:54:41
If you want a top striker and you want to compete, you've got to spend the money.

4.) 23 Apr 2016 23:02:30
he along with lacazette have both said they want CL football next year, if that's the case neither will be coming anyway 30 milling is way too much for an unproven player.

5.) 24 Apr 2016 00:27:42
If spuds are in for him, as papers suggest now, and he wants CL football, well seems more likely he will end up there. We have to keep pushing for Europa League at least as that along with the new stadium and the manager will make us an attractive place to come to. Was good to see Newcastle fight back and keep Liverpool below us.

27 Jan 2016 21:57:43
I see some papers are suggesting we are looking at Mathieu Debuchy, hopefully that is just paper talk? Getting nervous about the striker situation, it all seems to be taking too long which doesn't bode well if others are sniffing around. Yilmaz seems to have the stats, but tbh I haven't seen him play so not myself sure if his game will adapt, but hopefully it gets over the line and he doesn't end up elsewhere banging them in. What is happening with Lanzini? Have we go the money for him and if we get forced to buy a striker rather than loan? Interesting time nonetheless, hopefully the start of building a good side now rather than the false starts we are all used to.

Does Brexit impact current players or our targets?

AussieHammer

1.) 24 Jun 2016 09:12:11
I doubt it will make any difference I can't imagine anyone earning 10 + grand a week is going to get refused a work permit can you?

2.) 24 Jun 2016 09:21:39
maybe the exchange rate will though as the pound has dropped.

3.) 26 Jun 2016 09:32:58
More the fact someone like Lacazette for example won't have played enough internationals to get a work permit.

{Ed001's Note - they haven't even started leaving the EU yet, there is no way of knowing what rules will be like regarding work permits. People need to stop believing the crap they read in the papers or hear on TV. It is all just scare tactics. Nothing is decided.}

4.) 26 Jun 2016 09:54:53
But they are allowed to discuss it, its a Democracy last time I checked.

{Ed001's Note - apparently not, or there would not be people calling for a second vote, just because they disagreed with the result of the first one......}

5.) 26 Jun 2016 13:00:56
I would assume the rules would be the same re:work permits except they will apply now to 27 more countries.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing is decided yet.}

It's interesting you suggest Ed002.got annoyed because someone had an opinion and you are doing the same. The fact is a player cannot talk to another club when contracted without permission. A club isn't going to say a player got tapped up if they can easily get found out as lying. So if I don't know what I'm talking about tell me where? Or do you just get annoyed when someone has a different view to you? You must be a lot of fun in real life.

AussieHammer

{Ed001's Note - it is not an opinion it is incorrect. He gave you information, facts from the lady whose job it is to deal with it and you are here questioning it because you haven't a scoobys about what is going on. Now you are making up nonsense. You are wrong. Give up. I am not annoyed, I am bored of your plain ignorance and arrogance in trying to tell me I am wrong when I am presenting facts while you are just talking through the hole in your backside through pure ignorance. Just give it up. You are only making a fool of yourself even if you are too ignorant to know it.}

Not at the same time as saying he got tapped up. They might let him talk soon but not up till now.

AussieHammer

{Ed001's Note - if you say so, but you are wrong. I can see why Ed002 gets annoyed on here! You have no idea what you are talking about, it really is that simple. West Ham knew he was unhappy and wanted to go, they also know Marseille were interested in him, so why would they not let him talk to them when the owners had made the decision a while ago to sell him, no matter what Bilic has said. Payet has been an issue since he arrived, an issue that could be put up with while things were going well.}

Ant if that is true then Marseille wouldn't want anyone to know that as that is not allowed. They, legally, cannot talk to a contracted player. So I think that is just speculation.

AussieHammer

{Ed001's Note - it has certainly not got that far. They can speak to a player if given permission by the club that holds his registration. Do you really think the Hammers would not let him talk right now, when they want rid of him?}

Why? I would offer less if I thought someone had to sell something, why wouldn't they? Sure West Hammight say we don't have to sell but realistically what else will they do"

AussieHammer

{Ed002's Note - l'OM has no interest in anything said at a news conference and will be making the proposal they have already drafted to West Ham. It is then upd to West Ham whether to pursue it or not and ultimately whether to accept it. At that point it will be in the hands of the player. Others may come to the table with an offer. West Ham could decide to hang on to him - but they will know that by the summer offers will be less attractive for them as his value will drop. Sensibly they need to look at the options Marseille will offer.}

I don't think SB said he won't play for us again' in fact he said he expects him to come back and show commitment. Who knows what Payet actHalley said. But I think Ed is right, when DGS sit back and ponder the offer that comes I think they will have to take it as anything else doesn't make any business sense. Unfortunately Marseille will probably now low ball a little more than they thought they had to.

AussieHammer

{Ed002's Note - This makes absolutely no difference to what Marseille are planning.}

Yes West Ham are special, but so are every club to their supporters. The thing is the only constant is the supporters. Players will come and go, managers, owners, just a shame to have someone who has acted so petulantly, but he will soon be history and in the long term he won't be but a blip on the history of the club. Remember Ince wearing a Man Utd shirt before anyone even knew he wanted to leave, but the club didn't die because of it. I just hope Payet gets his wish and ends up back in France so we don't have to see him play for another Premier league side and despite all the issues this season the club will kick on again and the stadium deal is still a damn good deal that means we don't have the financial difficulties that we had a few years back.

It is nice to have all that potential money but the problem is unless we have some good players others won't join. No-one is going to come to join a mid to bottom half team when they don't have to. This is the issue we had already this summer no amount of money was going to get some players. We only got Payet because he was always seen to be a player who never fulfilled potential and would run hot and cold - sadly we are seeing the evidence of that now.

Great post. Too much blaming stadiums, pitches etc and not enough focus on the fact we have an average squad right now and our best players are not in form and not lifting the overall team. we bought squad players and have not improved the team from last year where we actually finished higher than the team could have expected to anyway. We need to be getting to the bottom of why players like Payet is not performing not selling our best players hoping others will join us when we are not yet a side that will fight for Euro places each year.

True, not during the season. The interesting thing is that the Boleyn was actually the same width 68m and only a few yards shorter. so probably grasping at straws blaming the pitch anyway.

You can actually make the pitch smaller as long as it meets the set criteria: The length of a pitch must be between 100 yards (90m) and 130 yards (120m) and the width not less than 50 yards (45m) and not more than 100 yards (90m) . So we can play with it a bit.

AussieHammer

{Ed002's Note - You cannot change it during the season.}
