Two different players who bring different aspects to the game. Cannot compare them really. I think the only reason you may be feeling like its a big drop in target is because Gomes is the more exciting player given he is more creative. But he is not the best defensively, and that is where we need to improve massively, alongside, and as backup to Rice.

Completely different style of play between these too. Hayden is a grafter that likes to tackle. Gomes good in the transitions.

I think they both had strong second halfs to the season. I do wonder how well Hayden would do in our side maybe he looked better in a well organised benetiz side or perhaps his game would improve further under Pellegrini.

Just got to trust Manuel's judgement.
