Mike thanks for your post concerning Wh approach to salaries, very interesting reading

Although as you say from a business side of things it is I suppose a sensible approach I just do not see how that would work for a club like ours unless the whole system is generic throughout the Prem league.

The whole idea of moving forward as a team is building a squad big enough with quality players, obviously we never going to be a Man C in depth but you have to pay what other clubs would pay to have squad players,

I think what i'm getting at is if we had a solid midfield where as the names are certain on the team sheet and we are looking for squad players, the approach you mention the board may be going down is i'm certain players will just opt to go to another club for the money and better chance of first team football, there is so much money in the Prem a so called lesser club who do not follow the same approach as in salary will just offer more!

If we were challenging for honours or champions league or Europa it may be a different matter, but the truth of the matter is we are not and I doubt unfortunately with the DGS in charge ever will be. I just do not see how this would work, unless the board are settling for a top 8 finish each year and that is their expectations, NOT what Brady said when selling us this stadium dream a few years back.

I may be wrong but I just can't see how we can attract players to move forward with this policy.

We can attract top, injury prone, players with this policy.
Agree with it for the likes of Carroll/ Wilshere but Rice? They need a 2 tier system.

As I said there are different ways of looking at it, WH are trying to keep wages under control whilst paying less to injury prone players, at this time it’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out, If however we pay out big bonuses for games played etc. You can clearly see where this will encourage players to join us, brave policy we shall have to see how it rolls out.
