Although a disappointing result imo the positives are most defiantly there, this season for me was always a bedding in season under MP, as many I was worried after the first 4 games but things now thankfully have settled. as long as we don't go down MP can have a free season as far as i'm concerned.

Of course we want to win every match but MP can assess whose good enough not good enough bring in players that suits his style. The system is in place and the possession rate against Brighton was very encouraging, a few tweeks in the jan window and again in the summer than for me it starts for real next season.

Unfortunately and I hate to say Antonio looks like its time to move on, Yammy as I stated before just does not look fit or if he is fit his body language and work rate needs to be addressed. Yes he can score a goal but he needs to learn its not all about him scoring he needs to contribute in other areas.

We will get beaten by so called lesser teams but me for one am excited about the route we are now going down, Rome was not built in a day, this is a new era for us and as long as we continue to improve me for one am very excited, instant success is very rare and if it happens it doesn't seem to last to long, continuity and improvement is a sound base to work on, and I personally think we getting there, albeit not as quick as some may like.

Completely agree Warrington, the progress is there for all to see, and there is still more to come from MP and I am sure he has earmarked areas to invest in already. We are taking teams on now and I feel we can both win games AND play well, whereas before each game last year i was just hoping we didn't get battered (conceding weak goals) and hoping we could nick a goal on the counter or from a set piece.
Interestingly we have one point LESS than we did after 7 games last year, and just +1 better goal difference, and Slav was sacked 3 games later. What a difference the mood around the club can give you. I loved Slav and felt he was a victim of poor timing and a learning/ naive board who got things wrong while he was at the helm. He got one great season out of Upton Park and then all the bitterness and negativity came.
Now, the board seem to have learnt from their mistakes, we have seen decent investment, and us fans are moving on and building new memories at our new home (like beating Man Utd) . We are certainly on a different path to what we were on last year.
