Hi lads. I’m cautiously optimist with the appointment of MP. However, I just saw an interview with Tony Gale and his fears and suspicions are the same as mine.
Is MP being appointed at record salary to appease the fans? Cheaper to sign on top rated highly paid manager than good, high quality players. Am I just being a bit to cynical?

Only time will tell.

164, I am an eternal cynic, but at some time you have to give credit where it’s due? We can all find fault or criticise one way or another, the board have excelled on this appointment imo, it’s not another usual in the Premiership manager merry go round! It’s now up to Pellegrini to put his stamp on the team and transfers, as Philmac said, only time will tell? Obvious thing to say, but you can only hire those that are available to hire then choose! At the moment we are far from being a club that top managers are clamouring to coach, I personally think we have come up smelling of roses, although maybe a very expensive bunch, so let’s hope, but not expect to much to begin with as we all know there’s a settling in period, but hopefully exciting times to come. My take is Ok, DS may be playing his usual season ticket games. but the difference this time he has actually signed the best manager we are likely to get. MP is a proven winner and I would rather pay this much for a managers salary who is class than buy a expensive player working with a average manager if you get my drift.

DS may have gone down the MP route to appease the fans but I for one do not give a toss, we actually having a respected tried and tested manager who players attacking football in charge, he will attract players and will get the best out of the players he wants to keep, so to all the cynics at least hold back on the criticism for now.

The only way any fault in future can lay with DS if he goes back on his word to MP and does not back him as they must have discussed. if he keeps his word and it all goes wrong i'm not sure how he can take any blame, MP must have agreed the tools he has to work with, and as long as the tools promised are provided. its down to the Manager.

Sensible post mate. We need each other for a reality check from time to time. I just remember how excited and enthused the fans were with the board in last years summer transfer window after signing Arnautovic, Hernandez and Hart. 6 months later fans were tossing £1.00 coins at them during the Burnley game ( which I believe Sullivan caught with his hands and put in his pocket) 😂😂😂.
Let’s see what happens. We fans are due a few pleasant surprises. We deserve it after keeping the faith for so long.
