Have we improved under Moyes?

Moyes' first 18 games in charge of the Hammers: P18 W5 D6 L7

Slaven Bilic's last 18 games in charge of the Hammers: P18 W5 D6 L7

That says it all.

Hi Budgie

The stats don't lie obviously, but you need to take into account the first 11 games of this season under SB, we / he looked pretty clueless so although the stats will show no improvement I feel SB just had to go otherwise we would have already been set adrift by now.

Slav just had to go, it was his team, at least with Moyes he inherited it and had to work with what he had mostly. I really thought when we got Slav he would take us up a step higher, whether it was his hip problem affecting him towards the end or not we don’t know? Moyes was mostly who was available, he wouldn’t have been my choice if there was a choice but who wants to manage us that has any record and with the boards attitude as well, why would they want to bother!

There are some bug clubs in the league below now.

Bouncing back gets harder and harder. its always easier not to get relegated than to get promoted.

If we go down we're quite likely to be in the Brown stuff big time!

I agree that Bilic had to go, but Moyes was not the answer in my opinion. When a new manager takes over, teams usually up their game to impress the new man. That happened at WHU, and suddenly everyone's banging on about Moyes being the new Messiah and tying him down to a lengthy contract. I had my doubts. Now we can see that Moyes is not the right man. He had an opportunity to improve the squad in January. What happened? We ended up with a loanee who spends more time on the bench and an unknown who is clearly out of his depth. It wasn't rocket science to see we desperately needed strengthening in defence and we were crying out for a central defensive midfielder. £9M for Hugill? Are you kidding me? The sad thing is that Moyes will get all the credit if we scrape survival. OK, our squad was not fit enough and were undisciplined, but any reasonable manager who is worth his salt would have sorted that out. There is nothing special about what Moyes has done. It's the manager's job for Christ sake. I fear for our survival and I agree with Stubbo. If we go down this time, it won't be easy to get back up. The future looks bleak. Still, at least DGS will be retiring after selling the club's real estate and making a fortune.

It's the same old story. How long did we go without a proper right back and we kept playing Antonio there and then kouyate. Our managers have to make do. There is no backing u less we can get a cheap deal.
