SOMETHING None of us new about Dendoncker bidding "Leander Dendoncker's deadline day was thought to have been all West Ham flavoured, with the Hammers said to have made two offers for the player on Wednesday. West Ham had been linked for much of the month, with other Premier League clubs popping up now and again to join them. One club not really mentioned seriously in the Dendoncker race was Crystal Palace.

But Belgium's Sporza have it differently, and they should know having spoken to Anderlecht general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck.

Sporza reveal Crystal Palace made a 'Very good serious bid' for Dendoncker on Wednesday night, but Anderlecht considered it all too late. How would that have gone down if Palace had bought him. They were also very interested in AMADOU and SMOLOV who were another two West ham targets.

I think the lesson here is that the board (for as long as they have left) need to stop making what we are doing and who we are looking at public! Not that it matters because they never agree a deal anyway.

that is what I thought! so can any one confirm this ironmike or eds? how is it that all supposed big targets dendonker smolov ect take months of negotiations and scout reports although no one heard that hugill was a target an within hours he's down from PNE had a medical and sign sealed delivered all in a day did they scouted him previously or is it that moyes had seen him from sunderland days? it all seems very rushed and efficient which is unlike us ; )

I'm not happy but this man ( not kid) is going straight into the team we HAVE to get behind him he's come out and said he always gives 100% and there's one thing I've already noticed in a foot race he could outrun CARROLL on one leg he's got pace and strength let's hope and pray he adapts and we don't judge him on his debut because he has to settle 10 games and then I think him and Hernandez with LANZINI AND ARNAUTOVIC playing behind I'd play a 4-2-2-2 . I get he might have wanted to play . But I just wanted to know if there was any scouting or previous looking into him. As you read we drop interest due to bad scout reports and what not. Just a wonder.
