Why do we actually have an Academy for the younger players, a lot of the so called future stars are hardly shining very brightly with of course the odd exception? I would guess most of them are paid possibly more than the Wigan team players that steamrollered us yesterday! I would like to know the wage bill that the board are paying for the so called "future", seems a long way off to me? Get rid of those that don't want to play for us, bloody bloody bloodsuckers and a lot complain about the board. I for one think, for the millions they have borrowed to sink into the club, they are entitled to some input into how they conduct their business. Businesses all need to concentrate on priorities, football is no different. Don't know the answer obviously, but it seems plenty do? Apologies for the "rant", but purely my opinion, don't want to upset fellow posters if they disagreeâš’âš’âš’.

Great post. What I don't understand is why we are hanging on to players that clearly don't wanna be here or are here for a good payday ie Andy carroll.

Problem as always phil is if we let these players go who replaces them? Not the young players ( not good enough yet ) and as mike said there are not a lot of players out there that want the move to us ( various reasons ) . We have surely the thinnest side in the prem with all the injuries and now the self inflicted ban . Not easy at the moment at all .

yeah they have put money in but the fact they talk so much crap is frustrating and certainly far off some input.

not to mention no clear transfer stratergy or wage structure.

we panick and buy players that don't fit in and/ or pay them huge wages.

I was beginning to feel optimistic again seeing us linked to young quality promising players like Maddison dendoncker mawson that are first team ready.

This transfer window is a mess. injuries couldn't have come at a worse time with the run of games. it should have been our wake-up call but it's taken a defeat in the cup and possibly another bad injury to obiang. now there panicking again who will take advantage of our desperation once again?

we seem to be going round in circles daves don't learn they either don't want to or they are incapable. either way both are not acceptable and they will not take us to the next level.

"who can we sign? Shelvey is useless"

classless turds. with little to no football Brain. Shelvey would walk into our team at the minute. he has a lot of quality and is west ham I would certainly have him in the centre of the park for the important run of games coming up.

So how do we get Newcastle to release him?

more of an example of there stupidity and stupid things coming out there mouths. If Newcastle were to bring in someone then maybe but they have there own problems with their owner at the moment. which obviously doesn't help our interest in the 'useless player'

I think we should be going all out for dendoncker and Maddison. I hope Mario works out won't be an easy first game for him playing in a weakend side.
