If we get heavily beaten by Southampton and performance is a shocker the board may make a move earlier than expected.

I'm not sure Phil, who they going to bring in? Mancini wants too much control and money for the dynamic duo . Benitez coming up with Newcastle, who else?

Benitez has had a major fall out with Ashley as he was promised money from the sale of sussoko and he wanted Townsend! Dgs quite obviously like Mancini. Whoever's chosen I just hope they insist on a director of football because the way we conduct our transfer business is the joke of the premier league. I'd like us to get bathshuyai and braithwaite in the summer both have blistering pace and we have got to finally sort out our full backs. Controversially, if it means selling cresswell also then so be it and on that score maybe Mancini is best choice to get the defence organised. I like SB but feel we're not going to progress with him.

Phil mate bang on as always. Director of football needed. Batshuayi and Braithwaite, new full backs and also agree with Mancini. I like Slaven Bilic the man but he's decisions have been questionable. Someone like Mancini could take us to the next level.

If Mancini does come in, it would be very interesting to see what players he ships out and who he brings in.

Is this why we didn't spend much in January? I would wager it possibly is and as we are over half way through the season are the board lining up a replacement who has to the end if the season to see who he wants to keep and who can go? Just thoughts which I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Hi Phil, if we get Mancini I wouldn't be surprised to see him raiding his old hunting ground at Man City, Hart, Kolarov, Zabaletta possibly even Kompany if his legs held out . Would this be a bad thing?

Mancini practically built the man city team and won them the title and the cup. Also Morinho's treble winning side also contained a core of players signed by Mancini. he's won trophies for every club he's worked for.

Its quite clear that he knows how to sniff out a decent player. He would give us clout in the European market, he would shake up the current squad and being a winner would demand immediate respect from the remaining players. He knows how to create a team that fights for each other, there will be no more leaking sloppy goals and he is also tactically versatile.

He would probably be able to attract players such as Hart, Zabeleta, Santon, Medel, Sigurdsson and Dzeko to name a few, and who knows, could he be the man to convince a big name striker to join our project, playing in a big stadium, in London in the best league in the world. Apparently we were bidding up to 40m for Lacazette last summer so it seems the funds would be there for him.

One Inter player that springs to mind would ve Mauro Icardi. On more than one occasion he has fallen out with the club and the fans but there's no doubt this kid is world class and apparently one of he's best pals is Lanzini. Could he be persuaded to join under Mancini?

I would say we would stand a better chance than with Bilic. The problem is he would want a few quid to make he's mark and would definitely command more of a say over transfers. The question is, would this be something Sullivan and Gold are willing to do?

Great piece and spot on. I think Mancini could get us properly sorted out. Cash available to him would be the only stumbling block and he has already identified that the pitch is too wide at home as it was with juventus (am sure I said the same thing weeks ago and I was heckled) . I like slaven but think we need a change.

Another win today. How will board react if they have already lined up Mancini.

Two managers I'd go for if slaven goes which won't happen in my opinion is Eddie Howe or David Wagner with preference and only just would be Howe though I rate Wagner very highly and like the way his teams play.
