Whats worrying during these windows is how we dither about. If we take forever getting the new Director of Football in post, what chance any new players? When are we eventually going to get Tim Steidten appointment over the line and how will this affect the MOYES control over transfers?

Good shout. He has a good eye for talent apparently so what hidden gems can he uncover for us?

If you think David Moyes doesn’t have an eye for talent you’re deluded.

Even the most ardent anti Moyes supporter would recognise he performed miracles at Everton with a shoestring budget.

I’m not asking for pro Moyes, I’m asking for balance. Give credit where it’s due.

Here we go. Just what miracles did Moyes perform at Everton? If memory serves me right, he did sweet FA.

I’m not a Moyse fan, but tbf he kept Everton in the Prem mid table on a very small budget and clearly kept the owners happy.

He has saved our PL status twice, qualified us for Europe three years running and won European silverware.

He is, however, a very defensive strategist, who plays boring football. His ideal player is a super fit athlete, who runs a lot. He struggles to manage really gifted players and mavericks.

For me, I’d like far more attacking play from a West Ham team than he’s ever likely to sanction.

There are major squad changes happening for us this summer. We must push forward. Not stand still.

He also got sacked from Man Utd and Real Sociedad, both in under a year. Ask Sunderland supporters what they think of him after he got them relegated. He lasted so long at Everton because he was cheap for their board. Premiership teams are now wise to his defensive counter-attacking football. Even Neil Warburton disagreed with his style of football and left the club after one season of negative football. And realistically, we never played any good sides in the third tier European competition until the semi-final. Sorry, but we will never achieve serious success under this incompetent manager. An eye for talent? Come on, my grandmother could see Paqueta and Aguerd are talented, and she died over 70 years ago. How many young unknown players has Moyes brought in, and/or developed into regular first team players? None. This club will never move on with Moyes in charge.

27 Jun 2023 14:39:55
I don’t disagree that we’re better off without him (as long as whoever comes in has a clue) . I merely listed what he’s done whilst working for us. I couldn’t give a monkey’s what he hasn’t done elsewhere.

7.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 16:50:08
MOYES performed miracles at Everton? Wtf did he win? He has an eye for talent? Your delusional. If it was his choice we would have 25 defenders. £170m spent and we had to fight for our premier league survival? Clueless!

8.) 27 Jun 2023
27 Jun 2023 23:20:34
Ok so the consensus is he didn't perform miracles at Everton.
He has however performed miracles at West Ham.
Like it or not he has delivered 3 consecutive years of European football for the 1st time in our history.

9.) 28 Jun 2023

I think saying he’s performed miracles is more than dramatic.

Everton has been on the steady decline ever since he left. Look at them now.

Moyes has done a pretty decent job at West Ham. As I said previously, the thoughts on this site are not shared by the vast majority at the ground. I know, I go every week.

28 Jun 2023 09:43:01
Sorry, but it’s not just this site mate. Look at all the forum/chat sites on YouTube and articles written. The vast majority want a change. How you can say that everyone at the London Stadium don’t agree is not feasible. That might be in the area where you sit, but people interviewed as they leave tell a different story.

Mikesiron, I agree with you, totally. He did a good job at Everton and has done a better job with us. Regarding Man Utd - anyone who came after SAF was on a hiding for nothing, particularly as the team was finished or retiring. Sunderland had major troubles financially. We have had good years every time DM has managed. How can anyone complain when we have just won a European trophy? I honestly feel some of you are either delusional or not West Ham fans. The man has done a great job. The Football is pragmatic, we all know that. But remember the situation we were in when DM took over? ALL of us would have accepted the current state of football. 7th, 8th, 14th, Semi final, Final (win) and another year within Europe. In my eyes DM has been a major success.

13.) 29 Jun 2023
29 Jun 2023 08:16:04
I have only ever seen West Ham win one trophy. I have seen us relegated numerous times, bought shocking players and been present when there were nasty atmospheres present, particularly under the current ownership. I watch international footballers every week. We have had amazing runs in Europe. We won a trophy. Everyone I know was buzzing, regardless of the competition.

I just don’t understand why supporters can’t go into next season optimistic.

Yeah my reference isn’t the casual fan down Westfield shopping centre. It’s your week in week out follower of West Ham United.

Those of us in that category, of which I am, stick with the team every week, every ground. None of this constant calling for the manager. You don’t hear fans at the ground chant anything bad about the manager. I don’t hear it on Match of the Day either.

Mike,
You talk as though only those currently physically attending matches have got the right to call themselves supporters. I can tell you I have been around when West Ham won 3 FA Cups, the European Cup Winners' Cup, and the European Conference League trophy. I've seen them become runners-up in the FA Cup and the European Cup Winners' Cup. I have attended 2 FA Cup finals at Wembley Stadium and 1 at the Millennium Stadium, and 2 Play-Off finals at the Millennium Stadium and 1 at Wembley Stadium. I have experienced promotions and relegations in good times and bad. For about 45 years I was a regular attendee at both home and away games, through thick and thin, rarely missing a match until age and a health condition prevented me from physically attending games. I stood in the original Chicken Run. So please don't come out with the 'armchair supporters' label. I've been there, done it and got numerous tee shirts. As for those people interviewed outside the ground after matches - they were interviewed after exiting the ground, not after a shopping trip. I'm sure they would be insulted by your label of them as "casual fans at the Westfield Shopping Centre". If that is your experience of West Ham support, then you, my friend, are a mere beginner.

One of my best buds support Everton. he says Bill Kenright wouldn't or couldn't stump up for strikers. Was this the beginning of Moyes' 4-5-1 inclinations or did it just play to his existing gallery as it were.

You got to love How MIKESIRON talks as thiugh he is the only one that's ever been to a WEST HAM football match. I was going to the games before you were born.BOY!

I just can’t believe we’ve just won the first Silverware in over 40 years in a competition which we were unbeaten and yet there are still people on here whinging about the Manager, predicting what will happen next season generally negatively and believing every bit of click journalism about players discontent on the internet! Enjoy the moment guys! I’m still smiling about Prague!

Ed 02 if you’re reading this can you give us one of your informative insights as to who might be joining us in the Summer please? We need something interesting to discuss rather than the same boring whinging! Thanks in advance ?

{Ed002's Note - Kyle Walker (RB) Manchester City have a replacement in mind. Milan would like talks. At the right price Aston Villa or West Ham may be interested. A move to WHU seems unlikely to me.
Duje Caleta-Car (CB) Will look to move on after relegation. Prior interest of Liverpool and West Ham could potentially still be there but Trabzonspor offer a good financial package.
Mohammed Salisu (CB) Newcastle, Brighton and West Ham have a declared interest. Just possibly.
Kalvin Phillips (DM) Do not rule out Manchester City letting Kalvin Phillips go as they have a replacement in mind to upgrade him. He has been offered around and Liverpool may well be keen. Bayern Munich, Aston Villa or West Ham may provide a wildcard option. Seems unlikely.
Djibril Sow (CM/DM) West Ham see Sow as a viable option to replacing Declan Rice but the player is unlikely to be keen. I expect West Ham to begin to push to get something done.
Morten Hjulmand (DM) Young Danish DM player who is attracting significant attention. Spurs have sent scouts, as have Brighton, Leeds, Brentford and West Ham who are facing the reality of losing Declan Rice in the summer. Southampton had an offer rejected in January. Borussia Dortmund have declared an interest and will push. A number of Italian sides, including Milan, Juventus and Atalanta, have taken note, and if Mr Mourinho were to remain at Roma he may well look to an offer. Will move but not to West Ham.
Rani Khedira (DM) New contract agreed - so no move to West Ham.
Mo Dahoud (CM/DM) Opted for Brighton.
Amadou Onana (DM/CB/CM) Fleeting WHU interest seems to have moved on but apparently Moyse is keen. Would be very expensive, but possible.
Matteo Guendouzi (DM/CM) Marseille will be open to decent offers. West Ham have him on theit list of Rice replacements - a good option and the Lady from Marseille is in England this week.
Youssouf Fofana (CM/DM) An apprach from Crystal Palace was rejected by Monaco who told them they will be negotiating a new contract. A potential Houssem Aouar replacement for Lyon. West Ham may offer an option. Chelsea have strong ties with Monaco and the clubs have discussed him but he is not first choice for Chelsea. I am not aware of Liverpool interest. Unlikely for WHU.
Denis Zakaria (DM/CM) I am told that there is interest from West Ham - my view is that it would not be looking forward.
Anton Stach (DM/CM) Mainz are aware that Spurs and West Ham are scouting DM players for the summer and that both have sent scouts to watch Stach. West Ham are beginning to recognise the reality of losing Declan Rice and need to improve their recruitment methods that see them stumble from window to window. Mainz will reluctantly listen to offers as they look to trim their bloated squad. My view is that he would be a great addition and is a reasonable price.
James Ward Prowse (CM/AM) Fulham, Newcastle and Spurs offer options but the Spurs interest being maintained will depend on the new coach. West Ham and Aston Villa offer attractive options. A wildcard might be Manchester United or Fulham. I am not aware of Liverpool interest but he would be far cheaper than Bellingham. Has a long-term contract and Southampton will resist a sale but know that relegation comes with departures and a close look at the finances. Southampton could look to a player as part of a deal.
Gabriel Sara (CM) Interest of RBL likely went with confirmation that Nicolas Seiwald would be added in the summer. West Ham have asked after a price for the player who only joined last summer. Norwich will look to at least double their €11M investment but will look to hold on to him if promoted. Player is keen on a move to Spain or Portugal apparently and Athletico may offer him an option. Could be a potential addition if JWP doesn't happen.
Scott McTominay (CM) If available at the right price, West Ham may be interested but I suspect the asking price will be beyond any valuation West Ham have for him - would be a mistake for West Ham.
Conor Gallagher (CM) Borussia Dortmund, West Ham, Newcastle and Crystal Palace have declared an interest - possible departure for the summer - may depend on new head coach. Gut feeling is he will stay at Chelsea
Jefferson Lerma (CM) Off to CP.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (CM/AM) Will be offered a new contract - if he refuses, which he will, they will only then look to sell. Juventus are very keen and should win out but Lazio will seek around €50M although they will negotiate. There was also a discussion with Chelsea but they have other targets. Arenal may offer an option as an alternative to Rice. West Ham and Newcastle will offer less tempting solutions to the player. Manchester United could look again. Won't be moving to WHU.
Yunus Musah (CM) Not interested in a move to WHU.
Fabio Carvalho (AM) Not working out. Burnley has a declared interest. RBL have enquired. West Ham offer a loan to buy. Moving elsewhere.
Jack Harrison (W) Leeds will sell at the right price. An option to replace Coutinho at Aston Villa. West Ham will only be interested if they lose Benrahma. With Demarai Gray being available he could potentially be of interest to Everton. Leicester fear losing Harvey Barnes and will look to Harrison.
Callum Hudson-Odoi (W) West Ham, Milan, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Arsenal see him as an affordable option. His agent has also been speaking to clubs in the Bundesliga and is seeking contacts in Saudi Arabia. A maybe, depending on how adventurous the player is.
Noah Okafor (LW/S) An enquiry from Nottingham Forest was rejected last summer. Leeds and Milan have a declared interest. RBS have no interest in selling but know his performances will attract a lot of interest not least from Inter Milan who are asking for talks. Juventus have been keeping a watchful eye on the player as a potential Vlahovic replacement. Spurs and West Ham have sent scouts to watch the player.
May have been noted by Liverpool whilst scouting another player. Won't be moving to West Ham.
Jonathan David (S/AM) Lille, like many French clubs were hit hard by the loss of broadcast revenue and will need to sell some of their more valuable assets even though they do not want to. Jonathan David is valued by Lille at an unrealistic €60M. Napoli see him as a possible addition, but not a direct replacement for Victor Osimhen. Real Madrid have previously declared an interest but their focus has turned away as they wanted to include a player in any deal. He has been recommended to Chelsea by an ex player but they have a preferred target they have already secured for the summer. The new Manchester United coach tried to take him to Ajax and could potentially look to taking him to Manchester United if they lose out on preferred targets. Barcelona interest has gone although Spurs, Newcastle, Liverpool, West Ham, Inter and Arsenal are clubs cited having sent scouts to watch him, with Arsenal having done so on a number of occasions but none seems to have a declared interest right now.
Armando Broja (S) Milan, WeReally unlikely for WHU.st Ham and Napoli remain keen. Brighton may offer another option to keep him in the Premier League. Certainly possible.
