According to the 'Daily Mail', the Spanish coach Rafa Benitez has been given the go-ahead to take over from David Moyes at the Hammers, who were thrashed 4-0 by Brighton on Saturday in the 26th game of the season.

Rafa Benitez would take over at a struggling West Ham side. The Hammers sit sixteenth in the table with just two points clear of the relegation zone.

We will see if in the next few hours if the coach's arrival at the Hammers is announced?

i hope he doesn't come to WHU I would sooner have Harry R. back until the end of the seasonwhich will give the owner time to get the right man for the job.

Seemingly, if Micheal Carrick was offered the job he would be open to a move

I'd like Carrick or Will Still.!

It seems, according to Claret and Hugh, the real reason MOYES has not been relieved of his duties is because there are ‘very few alternatives’ and ‘they are very expensive’. Added to this the payout for MOYES?

EXPENSIVE? that's a cop out. It's more like sully doesn't want to pay moyes. There are plenty of options out there. Sooner sullivan and moyes are both gone, the better

I think there might be an element of boardroom chess going on. If Kretinsky buys the club, it is not an unreasonable assumption that he will get it cheaper if we get relegated.

Will Still for me

Redknapp would be a good stop-gap until the end of the season should DM leave. Nice idea Devon John.

Does anybody else think that the Conference League has now turned into an unwanted distraction, considering the player unrest, Fans displeasure with MOYES and his inability to play our formation to its true potential (attack is the best form of defence). OK, let's say we, by some miracle should win it, but we get injuries along the way which affects our Premier League games. And then we end up relegated? Is it really worth it?

I firmly believe Michael Carrick is a perfect fit for West Ham. Will Still needs more coaching experience.
The Europa Conference League is a second rate European competition which pales into insignificance when equated with Premiership survival, both financially and prestige-wise. Any decent coach would have used it to bring on some of our younger players, such as Ollie Scarles. Moyes has missed another opportunity to use it to our advantage in his desperate attempt to succeed at something … anything!

I’ve no idea what the figures are, but surely the balance is between buying Moyse’s contract out, plus whatever the costs are to bring a new manager in (especially if his current club need compensating)

And

The cost of being relegated.

Sullivan is a canny businessman - how many millions are wiped off the club’s valuation if we go down?

It’s the real estate that is the crux of Sullivan’s decisions. That’s where the real money is.

It's catastrophic nightmare money wise ro go down a lot cheaper to appoint a new manager and pay MOYES his contract out.⚒⚒⚒
