I've read we could be after a loan move for Higuain?

I would be very surprised, however he does hold the ball up well, which suits MP style of play.
I like the Haller rumours though. I know Eds have said we have little chance, but MPH are good at what they do (e. g. none mentioned Fornals), so never say never. Gomez clearly wanted CL football, and preferably in Spain, and he got both at Valencia, not money motivated so unfortunately no chance. Haller on the other had has spoken about his desire to come to the Prem already, back in December, ironically linked with Newcastle. The key thing though, he would want to be first choice, and what top 6 prem club plays with a striker like him? He would be second choice at all the top 6, and won't fit any of their styles of play.
WHU are his best option in the prem therefore IMO, as we have a manager who builds a team around a player just like him, and MP is a manager most players would love to work with. He would be the hottest show in town at WHU, whereas at Man Utd he replaces Lukaku (if he goes) as backup to Rashford, and i don't believe Man Utd are building a style of team that plays to Haller's strengths, or if he is even their 1st choice replacement.
Money and trophies talk though, so he may be swayed to play no.2 at one of the top 6, which is (I think) why EDs say we have little chance. Would be a HUGE coup for us were it to happen.

Well stated! I agree with all of that. As long as any Haller saga doesn’t go to the Gomez lengths.

I really don’t want Higuain. He’s past it and couldn’t cope with the pace of the PL.

100% Markro, i hate these drawn out sagas, Anderson was bad enough last summer, at least it ended well for us.
Furthermore on Higuain, Sarri is now manager there, who loved him at Napoli so much so that he brought him to Chelsea. Unless he cannot work both him and Ronaldo into his style, and doesn't want a reliable striker he knows like Higuain as backup, I think it is VERY unlikely.

If rumours are surfacing of WHU speaking to Juve about a player, then it is more likely to be speculation around Moise Kean, who (surprise surprise) Everton are reported to have bid for. We always get linked to the same players as them. Maybe we are interested, possibly as a loan opposed to Everton's purchase, or we are just bluffing/ interfering to make it harder for Everton.
Any other Juve players we could be linked with?

Higuain at 31 valued at £36m!?
Don’t touch him with a barge pole. This happens every window, we lose out on our prime target and panic buy.

Still a month to go, no worries.

Haller is not going to happen.

What about Diego Costa, I would have him all day long at the right price, Premiership experience, absolute nightmare for defenders, scores goals, fancies a return to the Premiership apparently, yes please, the fans would love him👍⚒⚒⚒.

All. this time wasted AGAIN in another window chasing a striker who was never going to join. Smacks of lacazette and bacca all over again. Waste, waste and more waste.

{Ed002's Note - It happens all of the time to all clubs - there is an attempt made to sign a player - and it is unsuccessful. It is no big deal.}

no big deal but just feels abit disappointing. i said at early in the window i think we are going to fall short here. still got time and would love haller/ werner/ kean etc but can't see anyone like that heading to us. we can't just have chica as we don't play to his needs can't hold to ball up and just gave up a bit to easily. i don't know where we go from here. i'd like to know eds opinion if they were in this situation who they would have their eyes on upfront and who would be affordable and who would be a viable option? cheers.

Diego Costa would want too much, but he’d be perfect.

What surprises me with Gomez is that they have been after him since January and yet if reports are to be believed are shocked he didn’t want to join. I know we can’t tap up players but there are other ways of sounding a player out and knowing where you sit.

Higuian and Costa would be typical West Ham signings!

I thought those days were behind us, going for the over 30 best days behind them players who´ll no doubt be on huge wages!

Younger hungry players showing some form to progress the club, plus sell on value that can be reinvested further into the club!

if we keep doing what we´ve always done will we just stagnate!
