Not sure on what your view is guys - But i'm absolutely sick to death of seeing Jonjo Shelvey linked to us. He's not the sort of player we want/ need, awful attitude and temperament. if he was half as good as what he thought he was, he'd be twice as good as he actually is!

There's a long, long list of players i'd like to see in a West Ham shirt before we resort to him. Noble makes him look bang average.

I’ve never really got the Shelvey hype either. Benitez is no fool and he let Shelvey wallow out of his first team for ages.

Each to there own point of view, but for me I'd say yes to him, he has the range of pass that we miss, the boy can ping the ball about for fun . Unless Jack gets and stays fit then I'd bring him in .

Totally agree, Shelvey bad attitude, overrated and inconsistent. If he wasn't a Hammers fan probably never even hear about him. I'd steer clear, unless was a freebie and worth a gamble. But he's not getting into a team fighting relegation for a reason!

He was injured for quite a while with a bad injury and took a while to win his place back Because of the emergence of longstaff and form of Hayden he also had ki and diame to compete with.

Papers are linking Hayden with us and many other London clubs as he wants to return south maybe the eds can shed some light on this?

Geordies have been raving about how good shelvey has been since he's got there I'd say this has been his worst season yet because of that injury but he does have a great range of passing, doesn't shirk a tackle can score and create. Take him out of a defensive Benitez side and put him in a possession based Pellegrini side with better players you could see all his qualities, That's what I think anyway.

{Ed001's Note - that's true. If you can get their heads right you can pick up a quality player on the cheap. However Shelvey is not a quality player. He is slow, cumbersome, has an awful temperament and could pick a fight in an empty room. He also has a real problem with concentration, does not work hard in training, injury-prone (another thing the Hammers seem to like in a signing) because of his lifestyle, does not look after himself outside of training, hence his well documented weight issues and will give the ball away with those Hollywood passes of his far more often than they will get through. They do look good in a highlight reel but over 90 minutes he is a liability. He was horrible when we had him at Liverpool and he has regressed since then.}

Appreciate the info. I would hope he's quite far down on the list in that position just a case if we can get our first choice targets maybe.

{Ed001's Note - would it not be better to look at an academy player if you can't get anyone better than Shelvey? Sometimes it is better not to buy than just buy anyone!}

Well for me Noble is still doing the business and it's a good point you make of promoting from within it's just a case of if they are good enough. We have Cullen, Coventry, Lewis in the youth set up maybe one of those could step and become Nobles long term replacement. Also edi Fernandes returning from loan contrary reports on if he's staying or going.

Ceballos looks like the most exciting player we have been linked to in that position that would be my priority if he would come here.

Kessie also been linked with us and who ever gets Sangare is getting a special player in my opinion .
