Jan is always a non cost effective time to buy, yes maybe sell if a team come in with silly money. Arnie will be worth more than £35m come the summer so its best for all parties he stay, he may even get his move the a CL team.

I really do not care if anyone comes in at this point, unless its a cracking deal, why not keep what we have assess for the summer, we have players on there way back from injury, we are not going down nor are we getting into Europe, ( I hope not this season, next season a different matter) so let see what we have, how they perform to end of season,

Im sure MP know who he wants out and what type of player he wants in, why not spend the next few months until the end of the season preparing outgoings and in comings, get as many deals done so they ready to go in the summer, and than do business as soon as possible ready for what I expect will be a cracking season next year.

I said it many times on here, its a free season for MP in my opinion, next season we have to be challenging up there and dare I say a minimum top 7 finish

The most important thing is each season we need to be either consistent with the previous season or moving forward, I personally think we have eventually a spring board of moving forward, the funds are there we have a decent manager and if we flop over the next few seasons i'm afraid we will have to wait until DGS sell up before we start again.

I agree with Warrington - i'd like to avoid getting into Europe this season, if you don't have the squad for it, it really can break a team. Look what happened to Burnley.

Get as many deals in place for the summer for the players that Pelle wants, and ship out the people he doesn't. I really think Arnie will stay, i believe his brother is fabricating these stories to get Arnie a new contract in the summer and to be our highest earner. Imagine being Arnie, single handedly winning certain games for us, and having to sit in a changing room with clowns like Carroll (and Chicharito to a certain extent) who do the absolute minimum and earn the same money.

The defence definitely needs suring up - that is the absolute priority in Summer, LB and RB. We are scoring goals, so the boys up front are playing their part. Some legs in midfield wouldn't go a miss either!

It was Caveat Emptor when I was a lad.

Like most on here, I’m not really that bothered if there’s no movement this window. It would be nice to ship out the dead wood, though. I reckon MP’s statements about Carroll being an important player are to put pressure on potential suitors. I doubt he will extend Carroll’s contract in the summer.

If MP is not going to play Perez again, reducing what we pay him by sending him out on loan makes economic sense, but I doubt that will happen, even though I would play Xande ahead of him every time.

I’d really like to finish top 10, but I’m not sure we have the consistency for that yet, especially with the injuries we’ve got.

I agree that this season is a freebie for MP as long as relegation doesn’t come into the equation - feet under the table; get to know the club, the players you’ve inherited and the newbies; plan for the ins and outs for the summer window.

All in all, I’m much happier than this time last year.

I agree with Warrington and TK, would not be concerned if we didn't get anyone in this Jan. I also feel the same about Europa League; combined with the move to the LS it ruined Bilic's second season. That said, MP is someone who wants to win EVERYTHING and will want to push as high as possible, and if we can ship deadwood out now (Perez, Carroll, Masuaku, Oxford) and get better in then il have no complaints.
Partly agree with TK, but in order to move to the next level we still HAVE to score more, there is a clear gulf from 6th to all the teams below in terms of goals scored. But hopefully these goals will come when the likes of Lanzini, Yarmo and Wilshere all come back and help provide the opportunities for Arnie, Chica and whoever eventually comes in for Carroll and Perez. Love Arnie and think he is one of the best when he wants to be, but he also needs to prove his ability consistently and score 20+ goals in a season, which he has NEVER done before.
Like the idea of Gabigol and Demel. Fell off my chair when Worya suggested Origi lol, but only because i think he is right, could be a good buy at the right price! Not watched him much though, is he good enough technically for MP?
