Hi fellas, I wanted to explain if I can the approach WH are taking to salaries, Whilst the idea is to build up a proper squad, not just numbers but the quality required, the downside is of course the huge amount of wages to be paid out,
Not a new idea in itself, but WH have come up with the theory that eleven of the squad play with three subs allowed, so at any one time you will have perhaps 14 players not taking part, they will only receive in NEW contracts ONLY a. BASIC wage at a much reduced figure with perhaps a third to a half added for appearance either playing or as a sub, it starts getting a bit complicated after that with so many appearances bringing further add ons etc, it's seen as as a clever ploy by WH to cut costs, BUT if other clubs don't adopt this system. WH could find themselves out of the market come transfer window time, there are apparently a couple of other clubs that have already adopted this system. Whilst it's fully understandable from a purely financial Base it remains to be seen as to what effects this brings IRONMIKE.

Hi Mike, I've read Rice's contract offer is for £21k a week basic plus £20k for every start, so basically it will be £41k as he will be a starter, if he doesn't start it will be an extra £10k for coming off the bench or an extra £5k for being an unused sub, but like I said it's only what I've read?

It’s not quite correct BUT I think you have the feeling now of what WH want all there new contracts to look like it could prove very difficult to enforce this. IRONMIKE.

well we´ll never become a big club like that as i´m sure the top teams will not change their approach to player payments! . we could be left in the wind if we adopt that strategy or at best we´ll stay a mediocre mid to bottom half team at best . maybe that's what the board want . who knows!
