Personally I don't think a striker is a priority at present, I would much rather see us address the central midfield area that was one of our biggest problems last season. I would like to say though that I am pleasantly surprised and very impressed with our business so far this window.

Spot on whu4ever we have to address the c/ m position because I can't watch another year of noble and kouyate they ain't good enough I know we've got Wilshire but the other signings we are close too are attacking miss or forwards we are desperate for CDM I'm not slating our targets I think it's great but a cdm would be a complete window.

Ironmike how many international caps does a player need to qualify for a work permit in the UK? Balbuena only has 7 senior caps which I figure is why you are questioning the ability to get the visa.

diggidydee - I've just done a bit of digging, and hopefully this is right - he wouldn't automatically qualify due to Panama being lower than ranked 50th in the world, and he wouldn't have played enough matches any way. We would have to take it through the appeals process, where you have to get 4 points for the appeal to be successful (although it can still be turned down), and by my reckoning, he will probably get 5 points on the points system I saw. May be wrong, but that's how I saw it.

IF there’s a gap in the rules for a permit even a temporary work permit Husillos will know it. IRONMIKE.

Cheers for the info Hammer. He is Paraguayan not Panamanian and Paraguay are ranked 32nd in the FIFA rankings as of June 7th so that may actually work well in our favour then.

Sorry guys, was rushing during my lunch at work, I googled Panama, not Paraguay! As I understand it, he would still have had to play 75% of the games in the last 2 years, based on a ranking of 32nd - still wouldn't be enough, would have to go down the appeal route, which does look ok for us. I may be wrong (I have been before - see above! ), but that's how I see it.
