Arnie👍 We all have our opinions, but I am staggered that some posts on here are actually advocating that we should sell Arnie😠😠 Do they actually want to see our most exciting prized forward sold, do they not want to see him terrifying the opposition and listening to the London stadium roar him on with excitement each time he has the ball or, are they turning into D. S's, profit, for who? Selling your prized asset to me is UNFORGIVEABLE, when there are 60,000 supporters paying to hopefully see our ⚒ actually become a team to be feared playing? Ask Arnie to put it in writing that he wants a transfer, then at least we know that is what he wants? He will be a small fish in a big pool with massive pressure and demands on his shoulders giving the massive impression he made with us, they will expect the same at ManU, but it's also another big payday as well, which must be hard to refuse as a football mercenary, can't see his agent advising any different😄££ However I just knew this would happen and I guessed it would be moneybags ManU, jealous no, just effing annoyed if it happens, hope ManU win f-- all next season😂😂😂.

I whole heartedly agree, 100% correct we should not be selling our best player for any price we are not in a position where we have to sell. Build a team around your best players don't sell them to become bench warmers at Man Utd.

Chelmsford is spot on, get rid of all the bad signings but let's keep our best.

I'd only be tempted If we can get rashford in return, can't see it though.

I think your right we seem to have enough in the coffers to build a great team around arnie and that is what we should do. If he wants to go then so be it. but if we keep him and get the likes of anderson pastore wilshire we will be a exciting force.

spot on Chelmsford selling your best player so our owners can pocket more money for them self is pathetic.

¨football mercenary¨? i think that´s a bit strong describing Arnie as that. he was at Stoke from 2013-2017 and at Werder Bremen for 3 years before that! . think he was quite loyal to Stoke to be fair! .
If Man u do come in for him you can´t really blame him for wanting to play at a massive club and in europe at the tail end of his career!

Agreed costa, if he leaves who can blame him, I’m greatfull for what he has done for us, and yes the money would be great for bringing in more strength . Be sad to see him leave if it happens but let’s see what happens.

Good post Chelmsford and I agree but let's look a big players other teams have sold and are flourishing, Courtinho, suarez (Liverpool), Ronaldo (Man Utd), Bale (Spurs), to name just a few and these players were probably their clubs best players at the time, Arnautovic only played well for six months of the season and to make 40-50mil profit is something to consider and re invest in a couple of players 4 or 5 years younger, but don't get me wrong I would prefer him to stay I'm just looking at it from the clubs point of view.

What I meant in my above post is, it hasn't done those clubs any harm in selling their best players.

That's because they've all reinvested where will do as usual and keep it.

It is fine saying we shouldn't sell Arnautovic.

However, if he wants to go then what should the club do? Hold onto him and risk him becoming upset and downing tools like Payet did.

We could have got £50-60 million for Payet in the summer then by the time January rolled around he went for £25 million.

The players have the power these days so to use the Arnautovic situation to try and throw more shade on the board is not actually realising where the power now lies in the majority of football transfers.

Costa/ Jason, I am not calling Arnie a criminal or saying I wouldn’t do the same, the word mercenary is usually applied to a soldier fighting for money not ethics, it was used in the loose sense as a person that moves on for more money, I fail to see that, that won’t be the case, we are all or have been mercenary in our own way at some time! Yes we will as a club have made a massive profit, but look at from another way, the club have taken a risk as well, when the player signs a contact, they will expect to be looked after in case of a substantial injury say? but we want exciting players and we may be selling our best, but no good hanging on to a player that wants to move on, but what a short lived partnership it will have turned out to be?

These days its hard to keep players if they want to leave, i would be surprised if any player would want to leave WH with MP coming in and with the rumours of the players we are trying for. Our biggest worry is Lanzini being injured We now need a play maker. We must sell to get the players we require [but not Arnie] unless he wants to go. Get Carroll off the books a good player but another sick note problem. We have done gt. business getting Fredricks in we need a playmaker a CB and a holding mid field player, but before that get rid of the dross.

Is everybody on the same planet as me if we could get £65 million for a nearly 30 year old I'd drive him there for nothing we could get 3 very good players with that or line YODA SULLIVANS pockets more. COYI.

If UTD were serious about ARNIE I'd say straight swap for RASHFORD and i'd be cheeky and ask for SHAW in the deal although if MOURINHIO sold RASHFORD he'd be lynched by the UTD FAITHFUL. COYI.
