Hi fellas, clearing up this Cascarino bullshit Yes Collins received an E mail which is standard AFTER he had a meeting with DS, who thanked him for his long service, and explained he wouldn't in all likelihood be receiving anew contract DS encouraged him to continue playing if he can a;d then consider coaching badges, when qualified he would be given a chance at WH, I +cannot see what is wrong with that? Collins has already been approached by Norwich, and is considering the possibility, OK perhaps the E mail shouldn't have been sent BUT exactky what else should you do? A testimonial is unlikely for taxation reasons, I know lots of fans wanted him to get another season but where do you stop He was getting let's say very slow He has a nice house at the edge iof Loughton And Epping Forest , and I'm sure we will see him back one day at WH in a different capacity IRONMIKE

Thanks mike, the taxation on a testimonial didn’t sound good at all, imagine having one and finding out your in debt! I too hope he’s back soon in any capacity .

The taxation bit could have been overcome by donating to charity the income from the testamonial

Mile in that case its a typical PR cock up West Ham should have released the info straight away then rhe whole story would have been accurate.

Yes maybe an office mess, and it’s partly true about the charity, which could still happen, but ageing happens to us all, and that’s how it’s supposed to be, Sullivan has no blame here We have a new manager coming in with different ideas, we must now look forward IRONMIKE.

Mike it’s all messy but it is what it is . Changing the subject, would love to know who mr P wants to bring in but would hate it if discussion blew the chance of the transfers, but I also hear a DOF might be back on! Pls yes!

Yes but West ham would still have to hire the stadium for a few days and i´m sure that ain´t cheap. could even expose the club up to a loss! . so i doubt that´ll happen.

Re: testimonial, easiest option would be to ask Aston Villa if they wanted to host it. He spent time there too so would make sense.

Is that allowed under the rules? Or would Hmrc just see that it was an attempt to dodge any possible revenue to them?

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing to stop money being donated to charity - if that happens it is untaxed. Until recently it was tax free to the player, but they now only get 50% of the income from the gate - previously the entrance money was considered to be a gift.}
