I would take both for a year just think. of the teaching buffon could give someone like Trott and all the other young keepers that's priceless and same as yaya for all the young players to learn. of players of that experience and quality and for free I wouldn't turn it down and I reckon personally it would be a good and smart move.

I understand the apprehension of signing two players literally at retirement age in the game, but I also see a lot of reasons that indicate it being a great move.

Signing Pablo Zabaleta last summer gave us experience and consistency in a position where we have been left wanting in recent years.

Yes, Buffon is 40 and has played alongside some outstanding players in his career. But it cannot be over looked that he is an outstanding player himself. His organisation of the defence, his leadership, his shot stopping (even at 40 years of age) is incredible.

The same can be said about Yaya. Yes he is 35 years of age, but he is a beast. He has never been the speediest or the most agile player in the world, but his ability to distribute the ball with both feet, his vision, his experience is by far over and above anything we currently have in the squad.

Personally I would sign both on short term deals, give them coaching roles alongside there playing roles and the younger players coming through would be learning from two of the games greats (especially Buffon) .

You’re right, having a midfield duo of Noble and Yaya would be slow, but they’re two players that bring a wealth of experience, ability and a winning mentality to a team that could use a strong voice with direction leading them.

Sign both players, with some younger players (Leander Dendoncker for example) to be mentored by them. we would have some very talented players in the squad in the years to come.
