Am not complaining because I reckon Fonte would be a great addition, but Â£8m? It seems that we may have cooled our interest in Snodgrass after Feghouli said he is happy where he is? Also, we seem to have cooled our interest in Hogan? With ZAZA and Calleri leaving I hope we don't forget to strengthen up front especially with AC recovering from Whiplash pmsl.

(my opinion) Hogan's probably on hold because Sunderland need to sell to buy, Hogan won't be done till the last day, when we know for sure we won't get defoe. Sunderland know they need new players, with there current squad destined for relegation, they need to make a big play like sell Defoe, high risk high reward or Maybe there already preparing for relegation and will sell Defoe after tomorrows game, getting all they can out of the player before he leaves?

Hammer689 selling Defoe is certain relegation (looking likely anyway) but selling Defoe is final nail in the coffin. Can only see Defoe leaving in the summer. I could be wrong though.

If he left on a free in the summer it would be with the blessing of the fans. He deserves better than what the club give him but he is idolised up there and would become a legend if he kept us up. Besides can't see you paying the going rate as he is getting on.

Your probably right, especially if Fonte went for 8/ 9Â£, defoe would be close to double that.
