Hi everyone new poster here been reading this site for a while now so thought I would join. I have supported The Hammers all my life went to my 1st game in 1973 evening game lost 1-0 to Ipswich Trevor Whymark scored, at least I got to see Bobby Moore play. I am in my early Fifties so have had to suffer the bad times relegation etc like all other Hammers, so I had to say how saddened I am and embarrassed with what's happening to our club at the moment can't believe our own supporters are fighting each other as well as the standing issue.
I know a lot of supporters want to stand but until the time that it might be reintroduced everyone has to abide by the rules and sit down. I suffer with my back at times and can't stand for long periods wherever I may be so I would want to sit and not expect to pay out for my seat to only have someone standing all game blocking my view, pray tell how do these people carry on if they go to the cinema or the theatre, stand all throughout the film or show, I think not! or what about when they go on a plane to Spain stand for 2 hours, God forbid if they go to Florida! .
Is it so impossible for them to sit for 45 mins then a break then sit for another 45, I despair!
On a lighter note I enjoy reading everyone's comments on here especially you Ironmike keep up the good work it is appreciated.

Hiya Grouty, I'm not sure what's wrong with these supporters at the moment, we all have a little moan and discuss how we would improve the team of course we do, but at the end of the day dgs and Brady have given us a shiny new stadium a team that we can be proud of ( after last year's season) , it isn't perfect at the moment I know but surely for everyone's sake the fans can behave for a few games, after 6 or 7 games when everyone is more familiar with the surroundings I'm sure things will settle down, at the moment is terrible I know 3 season ticket holders that take their kids and they are already saying they won't go to Chelsea or spuds games as it will kick off they need to sort it and do it now.

Great posts but I got to ask where is the family area at the new ground cause I got an 8 year old and am not taking him into an area full of animals that want to fight. As for the standing/ sitting issue, what chance do the kids (the FUTURE supporters of our great team) have if somebody who is 6ft odd standing in front of them. It needs to be sorted out and everyone sit down. If you can't sit for 45 mins then don't go! We are all their for one reason and that's to support and cheer our team on, not fight amongst ourselves. Why isn't there a designated family area?

Simple one for me .
The lack of Police IN the ground has led to this

Police telling you to sit down 99% will obey

18 yr old kid (steward) telling you with NO police backup 99% of standees are going to say jog on

Police in ground sorted or am I being to simplistic.

Agreed but with young kids around fans should behave themselves, especially our OWN fans.

It seems that request for police presence hasn't been successful. I would suggest they start splitting the stadium off into areas for kids, families, pensioners, thugs and away fans before it gets out of hand and nobody is allowed in.
